As of Monday, the Louvre Museum in Paris remains closed following the Brazen Day Heist that took place on Sunday and resulted in eight missing pieces of napoleonic jewelry.
In a quick robbery, which officials believe took place within seven minutes, the Museum’s employees boarded a basket placed by a truck that lifted the exterior of the museum and was installed through a window, 30 minutes after the opening of the day. After attacking the exhibition at the Galerie D’Apollon, the masked robbers fled the scene on motorbikes. 8 items of incomparable value were “stolen, each of the French service, and one item, an ornate gold crown, was found near the scene.
“Thanks to the professionalism and quick actions of the Louvre anchents, the criminals escaped, leaving behind one of their belongings and one of the stolen items, the condition of which is currently being monitored,” Read a statement from the Ministry of Culture.

Art Detector Arthur Brand said Monday that police have just one week to find the missing treasures before they are gone forever. Because of how popular the jewels are, the brand, the “only” thing thieves can “melt silver and gold, take out diamonds” and “try to cut.” If this is done, he added, the jewelry “will probably disappear forever.”

Containing diamonds, Oriental pearls and silver, Empress Eugénie’s Tiara is considered one of the Louvre’s most precious pieces. The TIARA, made by the jeweler Alexandre-Gabriel Lemonnier in 1882, in the louvre, is composed of 212 pearls and 992 cut diamonds and 992 stones.

Empress Evice Eugénie’s large bow was stolen in a heist. The item, made of diamonds, silver and gold, features tassels and detailed fringes. It was designed by Jereller François Kramer.
Encrusted with 2,438 diamonds and 196 rose stones, it originally began the bond of a diamond belt of more than 4,000 stones, which was displayed in a public exhibition before being worn by Eugénie, according to the Louvre.
Eugénie, per CNN, reportedly wore the belt during Queen Victoria’s visit to the Palace of Versailles in 1855, and finally at the Prince’s christening in 1856, before finally turning the item into a brooch.

The Sapphire and Diamond Set, consisting of a tiara, necklace and single earring worn respectively by the Queen, Queen Marie-Amélie and Istabelle of Orléans. According to the Louvre, the necklace on display is decorated with eight sapphires of various sizes and 631 diamonds. The tiara and single earring are made of Ceylon Sapshires in their natural form.
While its origin and its Designer remain unknown, the Louvre considers what it says to be “a Precious Testament to the jewels of Paris.”

Napoleon brought this to Marie-Louise of Austria, his second wife, in 1810, with the intention of adding to her jewelry case, according to the louvre. Designed by Jebulir François-Régnault Nitot, the necklace is made up of 32 etheralds and 1,138 diamonds. The necklace and pair of earrings, preserved in their original condition, joined the Louvre’s collection in 2004.

Created in 1855 by the jeweler Paul-Alfred Bapst for Empress Eugénie, the Diamond and Gold Brooch, known as seven diamonds around the row, followed by two large diamonds facing each other, and additional diamonds facing each other. According to the museum, 94 diamonds were used to carve this piece. On the back of the brooch there is an engraving of leaves and foliage.
