Western leaders say Ukraine’s peace plan needs “more work”

This page A 28-point peace plan was proposed by the US. Because Ukraine is a base that “needs more work,” Western leaders gathered at the G20 summit in South Africa said.

The group of seven nations and European leaders met alongside the Conference in Johannesburg Discussing the US peace plan for the war in Ukraine, now in its fourth year. The Trump Administration hired the conference.

“The first draft of the 28-point plan includes important things that will be important for a lasting peace,” the leaders of the European Union, Canada, Finland, Italy, Japan and Norway said in a joint statement. “Therefore, we believe, that the draft is a foundation that will require more work.”

28 point plan, Sent to Kyiv and Moscow this weekincludes a draft that would require Ukraine to cede its Eastern Donbas region and Crimea, and pledge NATO membership, according to a draft shared by Ukraine’s political opposition and confirmed by a White House official.

It has many requirements to stop at Moscow times, while providing limited guaranteed security in Kyiv.

The program sounded the alarm in kyiv and other European subjects, with Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelenskyy said Friday That his country would face a stark choice between defending its sovereign rights and maintaining much-needed American support.

President Trump said he wants an answer from Zelenskyy in the program on Thursday, which is thanks to the US, but it means that the extension is possible to finalize the terms.

Ukrainian delegations will meet with the US delegation in Switzerland to discuss the proposal, a senior official said on Saturday, but European leaders warned against rushing a peace deal.

In their statement on Saturday, the Western leaders said they were “clear about the principle that borders should not be changed by force.”

“We are also concerned about the proposed restrictions on Ukrainian forces, which will leave Ukraine vulnerable to future attacks,” the statement said.

Mr Trump told reporters on Friday that “we have a plan” to deal with the war, but Zelenskyy still needs to approve it. The President said of the Ukrainian leader: “Somehow, he will have to accept something.”

“He’ll have to like it, and if he doesn’t like it, then they should keep fighting, I think,” said Mr. Trump.

Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted on Friday that Russia had obtained the text of the 28-point plan “through existing channels of communication and administration of the US.”

“I believe it can form the basis of the final peace,” he said. “But this document is not discussed with us in any significant way. And I can imagine why. I believe the reason is the same: The US Administration fails to secure the consent of the Ukrainian side. Ukraine is against it.”

Zelenskyy struck an unmistakable note on Saturday as the country endured the “massive famine” Soviet leader Josef Stalin imposed on Ukraine in the early 1930s, which led to millions of deaths.

“We all know how millions of our people died and are dying of hunger, and millions were never born. And we are also defending ourselves from Russia,” said Zelenskyy in the post and burning again, “said Zelenskyy in the post and burning to mark the Memorial Day.

“Protect us, protect us, and we will always protect Ukraine. Because here is our only home. And our home,” Zelenskyy added.

The Ukrainian delegation will return to Switzerland to discuss this proposal with those who represent it, according to Russem Umerov, a former minister who was Ressem, who led the Ukrainian negotiators failed to talk about Russia.

“These days in Switzerland, we are starting consultations between high-level officials of Ukraine and the USA regarding the possible parameters of the future agreement on the agreement,” Umerov wrote on Saturday by telegraph.

Nine authorities should participate in the negotiations, including Zelenskyy’s Chief of Staff Andrii Yermak and Umerov, according to a statement posted on the website of the President of Ukraine, which also revealed that the negotiators were empowered to deal directly with Russia.
