“When we met, he was more optimistic than I was. He actually bought our first house in Hertfordshire, known as Beckingham Palace,” he added. “So for him to have to come to me and say, ‘Can I get more – we need more money. The business needs more money,’ it was difficult and we said, ‘this was difficult, because I was difficult.'”

“It’s been years since people told him what he wanted. I remember one of the expenses was the plants in the office.” And it cost him £70,000 a year. And then there was someone coming to water the plants for £15,000 a year – and that’s just the beginning. So I went to him and decided to just tell the truth, exactly the way it is, and I didn’t know how he would react. “
“I said, ‘Victoria, we have to change everything, reorganize the business, and that’s going to be painful,’ and when I finished I just listened,” she recalls.
Victoria admitted that it is difficult to hear the truth.

“My Victoria that I know, stays at home with a ton, smiles, laughs, gives me a glass of wine. That started to go away because of the criticism that she gets,” he added.
