Val Kilmer’s Daughter Mercedes Honors Late Actor On Her Birthday

A few years before Kilmer’s death, Mercedes opened up about their close relationship in an interview with People.

“My dad is a very smart and intelligent person that I would love to hang out with, even if he wasn’t my dad,” she said in 2020.

Mercedes starred alongside her father in the film Paydirtwhich marked her return to acting after throat surgery that affected her voice.

“My father is very talented, and he knows how to creatively transcend the limitations of his speech,” continued Mercedes. “I learned a lot from watching him, like how he communicated physically. It expanded what I thought acting was.”

“I’m just crazy, I’m excited for them,” he told the outlet. “My only regret is that I never see enough of them, so I don’t get enough of the wild fun that everyone else gets, but they’re really fun.”
