President Donald Trump threw himself into Honduras’ County Count-minor presidential election on Monday, warning that there will be “hell to pay” if election officials change the results.
Writing about social truth, Trump, without providing evidence, is accused of saying that Honduras “tried to change the results.”
“If they do it, there will be hell to pay! The people of Honduras voted in huge numbers on November 30,” Trump said.
The President’s words came hours after Ana Paola Hall, President of the National Electoral Council, wrote in X that the Preliminary Rapid reporting system that began to provide Sunday evening Sunday with 57% of the votes recognized.

Their count showed a close race between two conservative allies, Nasry Asfura of the National Party and Salvador Nasralla of the liberal party, with Asfura holding a slim lead of a few hundred votes. Rixi Mocada, Democrat Socialing Lifre Pentiled, trailing 20 percent behind.

“It is important that the commission is finished counting the votes,” Trump wrote. “Hundreds of thousands of Hondurans must have their votes. A democratic majority must exist!”
Authorities said the count would continue but it was not revealed that it would be released when rates were renewed, and parts of the Council’s online system appeared to be down.

Both candidates showed up at The Chaltate as proof that they are still going to happen – although both people stopped short of declaring victory.

Trump’s announcement that he will pardon the former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who is now serving a 45-year sentence, and was heavily involved in the race, underscores how US politics can enter into those of the country.
