Paramount Pictures is distributing “Rush Hour 4” after a report suggested that President Donald Trump personally owned the company to another fan.
Deadline confirmed Tuesday that Critical Pictures will distribute the fourth installment of the Buddy-Cop action series Starring Jackie Chan and Chris on behalf of Warner Bros. Discover. Chan and Tucker are expected to return, along with franchise director Brett Ratner.
This news followed the semafor reporting on Sunday that Trump was talking to the paramoous owner David Ellison, the son of Larry Larry Ellison, to probably renew the franchise.

“Trump seems to want to revive the comedies and movies based on the late 1980s to late 1990s,” the report said. “He’s passionate, for example, about the 1988 Jean-Claude van Damme sports flick ‘Bloodport.’ A person directly familiar with the negotiations told Semafor that the President of the United States personally pressured the owner of Paramount to revive another franchise from comedy, martial arts and gags that include humor in society. “

Ratner previously worked with the Trump family after directing a documentary on Lady Melania Trump in the days leading up to the 2025 inauguration set for January.

Arthur M. Sarkissian, who produced three “one hour” films, also produced 2024 documentaries “the man you don’t know” through his company, Global Ascension Studios. The document, released ahead of the 2024 presidential election, sought to offer “new perspectives” on Trump through interviews with friends and family.
Franchise stars Chan and Tucker have been relatively supportive of Trump in the past, especially compared to more liberal figures in Hollywood.

In 2016, Chan encouraged people to give Trump “a chance to try to change America and change the world” after he won his first election.

In 2018, Tucker told “good morning” that he hoped Trump was “doing a good job” and that he would be “praying for him”. ‘
