NATO and other American Allies in the Transatlaclic Alliance have sought to reduce concerns over the Trump administration’s move to reduce the US military presence in Ukraine and over allegations of NATO’s ongoing war.
The Pentagon announced on Thursday that it was reducing the number of US troops being sent to Eastern Europe. US officials told CBB News that about 700 US Airborne troops deployed to Germany, Romania and Poland will come home and be replaced.
In a statement, the United States Army said it was part of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s “NATO commitment process,” and “not a good sign of military commitment and Article 5.”

“Ours Nato Allies they met with the leadership of the President of the Republic to take the main responsibility for the common defense of Europe, “said the forces.” This adjustment of Force Stature will not change the security environment in Europe. “
On Thursday, it appears that it has caused such concern, the minister of defense in Estonia Hanno Pevkur said in a statement that there was a military commitment in Estonia, they confirmed the military commitment of this period in the East. “
He added: “We are working to advance the US military presence in our region,” he added.
In September, Estonia said that Russian military jets had breached the country’s lost territory 12 minutesjust days after Poland claimed more than 20 Russian drones entered its airspace. This week, Lithuania closed its border with Russia’s ally Belarus, after both countries accused “The deliberate rise of hybrid warfare. “
NATO says deterrence measures in its Eastern strategic alliances have been “significantly strengthened” over the past decade as a “direct result of Russia’s behavior.” That border runs from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the Black Sea in the south.

The strengthening includes the US forces, but the Trump administration has forced the responsibility to take more responsibility – and they are very confident this year that it will make the Indo-Pacific Indo-Pacific, Europe, despite the ongoing war in Ukraine.
“This decision was expected,” the Romanian Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Wednesday, referring to the announcement of the US troop drawdown.
US ANTRASador e Nato Mate Mater Whitaker said in a social media post that America’s cooperation with Romania “remains stronger than ever with the increased capabilities of European forces.
The confirmation did not end the debate over whether the move could be just the beginning of a wider US withdrawal from Europe. The Ukrainian newspaper Kyiv Post reported on Friday that a reduction in US forces is expected, with forces to be withdrawn from Bulgaria, Slovakia and Hungary by the end of the year.
There was no immediate public response to the report from the Pentagon or the Premp Administration.
Nato also sought to ease concerns, with a senior military official from the Alliance telling CBS News on Thursday that, “even with this kind of adjustment, the posture of US power in Europe remains greater than it has been in years.”
“The US commitment to NATO is clear,” the official said. “President Truec and his administration have written on this again and again. NATO has strong defense systems in place and we are working to ensure that we maintain the right forces and capabilities in place to intercept and protect each other.”
The announcement drew bipartisan criticism in Washington, with some top lawmakers warning they could have framed Russia and undermined the NATO alliance.
In a joint statement issued Thursday by the House of Representatives Committee, the chairmen of that committee and the corresponding Republicans – both Republicans – said they strongly oppose the change in the use of Islam, which they say “is directly related to the irregularities in the President’s plan.”
Senator Roger Wicker and representative Mike Rogers, in a statement, also expressed that they believe the Pentagon can make further reductions in US deployment to Europe.
“We strongly oppose the decision not to end the rotation of the US Brigade in Romania and the Pentagon’s process of its ongoing review of Foce Force that could result in the withdrawal of US forces,” said the Ripublipublican lawmaker.
“On March 19, we said that we will not accept major changes in our construction of the war without the combat process, communication with the joint staff and the joint staff,” said Wicker and Roger. “Unfortunately, this seems to be worth the effort.”
On Thursday, rep. Mike Turn Turner, also a Republican and Head of the US Program at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, saying he is “concerned about reports of a reduction in US forces in Romania.”
“Congress has made it clear that the US Force Streare outside of Europe must remain strong and strong. Russia’s aggressive actions against Eastern countries in the AirSpace emphasize Russia’s desire to go beyond Ukraine,” said the change. “It is in our national interest to support our NATO allies as they make good their money on the security of their defense capabilities.”
Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, Member of the Senate for Foreign Affairs, called the decision to reduce the presence of the US in the region “deep” in a statement issued on Thursday.
“This decision sends exactly the wrong signal to Vladimir Putin as he continues his murderous campaign in Ukraine and tests NATO’s determination by reducing other countries against other states,” he said.
