Tova Ben-Dov, Honorary Life President of World Wizo, passes away at 88

Ben-Dov was recognized as a leading figure in the zionist and social movements in Israel and around the world, a respected leader, and a dedicated member of the Wize for sixty years.
Tova Ben-DOV, the sixth President and Honorary President of the World Women’s Association of Women (Wizo), died at 88, the organization announced in a statement on Friday.
Ben-Dov served as President of World Wizo from 2012 to 2016. She also held positions as vice president of the Jewish state, and a member of the International Women’s Council.
During his tenure at Wizo’s Office, he “greatly expanded international relations and strengthened relationships with Wizo organizations around the world,” according to Wizo.
“A leading figure in the zionist and social movements in Israel and around the world, Beni-Dov dedicated his life to improving society, children,” said Wen-Den-Dov.
At Wizo, he held many leadership positions, including Chairman of the World Wizo Executive (2004-2012), Chairman of the Department of Architecture, Buildings and Development, said the Wizo manager.

During his tenure as Chairman of the board, Wizo received an award from Israel in 2008 for its role in improving the status of women and promoting gender equality, according to the organization’s statement.

Among the accomplishments of Ben-Dov’s ONTable in the organization was the establishment of Margaret Thatcher Open house in Sdeot – “A unique center that provides thousands of treatments each year in this traumatized city,” according to the traumatized website. Alongside this project, Ben-DoV created the first day care centers in the city, serving 200 children and employing 50 teachers and staff.
Ben-Dov’s volunteer work began as a young mother at the Wizo branch in Herzliya, where soldiers rehabilitated soldiers from the Yom Kippur war who were kept in Wit Hess, a Wize statement said.
He became a respected leader, nationally and internationally, and leading programs that should move forward and target women in various communities, establishing women’s counseling stations and making an important contribution to shaping the identity of Wizo as a global social organization.
In 2011, Ben-DOV was awarded the Yakir Tel Aviv (the worthy Facilitun of Tel Aviv) “in recognition of his dedication, loyalty, according to Wizo, and in 2016, he was awarded the recognition of an honored person of the country of the Ionist Congress.
