This Is Us’ Sterling K. Brown, Mandy Moore, Chris Sullivan Tease Live Podcast

After releasing over 400 episodes of their “That Was Us” podcast, This is us stars Sterling K. Brown, Mandy Moore again Chris Sullivan they’re recording a live episode for fans – which could lead to them hitting the road on an official podcast tour.

“This would open the floodgates for us to do more of this – maybe in other cities across the country,” said Moore, 41, who played Rebecca. Us Weekly during a joint interview about him, Brown and Sullivan’s That Was Us Live event, which runs January 17. “We’re waiting to see what the response is.”

A special live show took place at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California, with the promise of a regular set by Brown, Moore and Sullivan before introducing live music.

“We don’t focus on one episode of this recording. “Once we’re done talking about the music, we have a few special guests to help us talk about it. [also] we will have some special performances for the audience who come to see the show. It’s not going to be something that’s part of the next episode that’s playing.”

Sullivan, 45, confirmed Taylor Goldsmithwho contributed music to This is usshow the creator Dan Fogelman and the composer Siddhartha Khosla they are scheduled to be there. Since the event is in Los Angeles, longtime fans of the show should expect many unexpected guests.

“This has been a labor of love for Chris. None of this would have been possible without Chris and his passion to drive this forward and see this through,” Moore beamed at us. “I feel very grateful to him for doing this because I think we’re all going to benefit. We’re all going to have a lot of fun doing it.”

Sullivan, who played Toby, opened up about how setting up a live show is different from recording a podcast episode, saying, “All three of us are live performers from the jump. It’s something that’s in our hearts and it’s hard to find time in our schedules to do it. Luckily, we have a lot of support from the producers here at Rabbit Grin to help produce the event, but they’re not just producing the podcasts. Live Nation is helping us put it on and it’s going to be wild and awesome.” “

This is uswhich ran from 2016 to 2022, focusing on the brothers Kevin (Justin Hartley), Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Randall (Brown) in addition to their parents, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca Pearson (Moore).

Two years after the NBC series ended, Brown, Moore and Sullivan reunited to celebrate This is us in the form of a podcast. They’re promoting their new venture with a live podcast that sees them pull out all the stops – including one member taking singing lessons to prepare.

“I’ve actually started taking voice lessons in anticipation of this live performance,” Brown, 49, a two-time Emmy winner, quipped after Moore praised her talent, “She likes to play it like she can’t sing. She’s an amazing singer.”

Moore was very happy to be in the same room This is us viewers as the show continues to solidify its status as a popular series.

“We’ve seen other podcasts do it and honestly I was jealous,” he teased. “I wanted to do that because it looks like fun. We’re really excited to do this show together and we’re really touched by the connection the fans have with the show and that the fans have a podcast.”

Moore continued: “We’ve never really had the opportunity to talk live and experience it in person. We’re very excited to have that opportunity here.”

While meditating This is us‘, Brown praised the show for its “extraordinary” performance.

“Now that I’m a few years removed from it, I feel like just a fan. And I find myself incredibly moved by the show. It’s not my game, it’s their game. But I understand in a new way what it felt like when it wasn’t in the world at the time,” he pointed out. “It’s a show that connects people in such a beautiful way.”

Brown continued: “When I watch this show, it’s very clear to me that I’m watching people in love. There’s an amazing plot, there’s amazing writing and storytelling — but the relationships that you see played out on camera are based on real-life relationships that people have that are based on love. It feels so clear to me when I watch it and see it from the other side.”

Sullivan called This is us “the book of life,” he added, “We talk about it a lot. So if anyone’s ever felt lost or like they’re going through something that no one else can understand, This Is Us has the answers to how to navigate all of that.”
