Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has accused California Gov. News of violating new immigration laws by allowing an illegal immigrant to maintain a driver’s license (CDL).
That truck driver is accused of causing a major accident that killed three people on Tuesday in California.
New Newlom blasts the Federal Government in this accident, opposing its policies finally allowed the suspect to get a license. Duffy denied that claim.
The controversy comes as the Secretary of Transportation Threatens to Withhold Millions in Federal Highway Funds from California and expand Federal review of how non-citizens obtain state-issued licenses.

A fatal crash happened on Tuesday on a freeway in California. JashanPreet Singh, a 21-year-old Indian, allegedly drove a truck while under the influence, causing a multi-vehicle crash that killed three people.

According to the Department of Transportation, California is violating new federal laws by promoting a CDL to Singh without permission despite an emergency order issued on September 26.
“If California had sided with the Secretary of Emergency Management and blocked the development of this vehicle’s driver’s license earlier this month, he would not have been able to get behind his big rig,” according to the department’s statement.
This law is designed to limit the eligibility of non-citizen licenses and requires states to verify the legal status of applicants.

California first issued Singh his CDL in June, but it was updated in mid-October, weeks after the state’s new restrictions went into effect, according to the Department of Transportation.
Newloom’s press office called the incident “Bragic,” but accused the Trump administration of trying to score “political points.”
“This is sad, and like all the tragedies of the past ten months, then Secretary Noeem Noem ordered Secretary Fuffy to look for cheap facts to score cheap political points,” his former office wrote.

“The federal government has approved and renewed this state operator’s authorization over and over again – allowing him to obtain a commercial driver’s license in accordance with Federal law.”
Duffy did not accept the governor’s message.

“Good to see Gavin Tap-Dance on Tweet, get him ready,” he said.
“But the truth is, we set guidelines for where licenses can be issued. We sent that direction. ‘ That was Gavin Newloom’s choice. The states issue driver’s licenses for sale. We give the direction, they issue them. “
“California’s laws and regulations and commercial driver’s license laws are consistent with Federal law,” Newloom’s office told fox digital news in part.
