A group of thieves who stole the Louvre Museum on Sunday and made up of some of France’s famous crown jewels may end up melting their heist down, said an Ex-FBI Art Crime expert.
Tim Carter also suggested that the group of looters behind the “shocking” operation focused on the wealth of a large cultural and historical value.
“This was a targeted heist,” Fox News Digital said.
They continue: “They knew exactly what they were going to do, and they understood the value and the cultural significance of these pieces,” he continued. “They also understood that this is very important to the French people.”

Another “shock,” Carpenter noted, “is that it was a daylight robbery while the museum was open.”
The Louvre was forced to close its doors after the early morning theft that took place in less than seven minutes and left the police racing to recover the treasures.
The attack, at around 9:30 am local time, targeted the Apolloum gallery of the Museum, home to the historic house connected to Napoleon and Empress Eugénie.
Workers reportedly stole a crown believed to have belonged to Empress Eugénie, Le Parisien said.
According to the accompanying media, eight items were taken, including a sapphire necklace, a necklace and one earring from a set belonging to French Queens Marie-Amélie and Hortense.
The emerald necklace and earrings are from Empress Marie-Louise and are reportedly snapped alongside a repeating brooch, accenting Eugénie’s crown and her large bow brooch.
“They can melt down or be extinguished,” explains the carpenter. “They’re going to drill the crown stones, and they’re going to cut the stones, and they’re going to market them individually.”

According to the French Daily Leasisien, the thieves, two of whom were disguised as traders, entered the museum after parking next to it. They increased the lift on the first window down and beat it open with an angle grinder.
Time “is when the museum has its greatest grace. People are resolved,” Carpenter added.
“They’ve broken through the window and they’re making this really crazy. These guys are fast and going fast with a purpose, and they’re breaking, and they’re in there quick,” he added quickly, “he came quickly,” he added quickly, “he quickly added,
After the heist, the Minister of the Interior Lañez spoke to the French radio station France Inter and said that the thieves “got in using the Basket Lift” and a “disc cutter” to cut off the precious jewels.
“An investigation has begun, and a detailed list of the stolen items is being compiled,” the ministry said in a statement. “In their market way, these things have an incomparable historical value.”

“Because it’s a historic building, there are natural hazards that exist, and these people just found one of those and found a way to exploit it,” Ralowoti said.
He continued: “That’s really dangerous,” he continued. “When you look at a building like the louvre … There always has to be a balance.”

“I think the local authorities there have a strong chance of conducting an effective criminal investigation, identifying these people who are doing wrong and hopefully getting these pieces back before they are lost to us,” the condition concluded.
