Washington – Prime Minister President Trump and Australian Minister Anthony Albane signed the critical minerals facing the White House on Monday, as America’s eyes on the world’s rich while China imposes tougher rules on exporting minerals.
Mr Trump said the deal, which would include $8.5 billion in projects, had been negotiated for several months. Albanese said the deal would take US-Australia relations “to the next level.”
“About a year from now we’re going to have a world with a lot of big, unfriendly clay that you don’t know what to do with,” said Mr. Trump, sitting next to Albanese. “They’ll cost $2.”
Critical minerals include some of the elements needed in modern technology, including lithium and silicon. They also involve rare earths, viz used to make magnets used in defense technology and aerospace technology.
The White House says the governments of the US and Australia intend to invest more than $ 3 billion in critical mineral projects in the next six months. But the draft released by the Australians says the two countries will invest $1 billion in the next six months. The framework of the Australians was released saying that the two countries will work together to accelerate the safe supply of critical minerals for the production of protective tissues and in rare earth markets, rare earth spaces from critical trade and address marks in key chains, among other things.
The US-Australia deal comes after Beijing announced It will require foreign companies to obtain the approval of the Chinese government to issue magnets containing prices of rare earth materials from China or produced with Chinese technology. The Trump Administration says this gives China a wider hold over the global economy by controlling the Tech Supply Chain. The movement led Mr. Trump save 100% extra fee in Chinese goods.
The Trump administration and the President himself have focused on finding unusual international deals, in part to find alternatives to China. At the beginning of the year, Mr. Trump made a deal with Ukraine for him provide US access in that other country.
Albanese said the sensitive minerals they deal with show the strong relationship between the US and Australia.
“We’re great friends and we’re great partners,” Albanese said Monday. “And this is the relationship that has been abandoned in the country’s wars. We are standing on the side of freedom and democracy.”
The White House said Australia is also making new investments, including the purchase of $1.2 billion in submarines. Since February, the White House said that Australia has donated $ 1 billion to create a base for American industries. Trilateral security partnership Awakening The involvement of the US, Australia and the United Kingdom – which was first struck during the Biden administration – aims to counter China in the Indo-Pacific, and the production of ships under that region is an important part of that alliance.
