Roger Ebert summed it up perfectly The sand When he says “this movie seduced me with its memories of what really matters when you’re 12,” and I can’t think of a better way to describe it. Really nothing happens inside The sand In the sense that the boys at its center are just living life and playing baseball. However, everything, everything is a life-changing event because they are children on summer vacation, there is a scary dog lying behind Mr. Mertle, and they want to play football all day like their lives depend on it.
I do not say this as an offense Savot’s It is a plot of innocent stories, but as a way to celebrate it. It’s fun, it’s free, and even if you can look at the serious subject matter as an adult, no other movie brings back memories of the days when the moments felt like they defined your entire existence. Just like in real life, sometimes the plan doesn’t matter. The memories you make when your parents let you run around the neighborhood, just waiting at home for the street lights to come on, however, have a price.
The sand Institutions at the highest level of Scotty (Tom guiry), in their twelve years told by his version of Kho (expressed by the writer and David Mickey Evans). The shy new kid in town, Scotty feels like an outsider but befriends Benny (mike’s boy), a boy who eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball. The group is another gambler, Ham (Patrick Renna), yes-yes (marty york), Kenny (brandon quopardi), and puncy tythinski), but tuunny (Victom Dimattia), but he accepted to let Scotty join their baseball clan, but they spread it a little and teach him how good this game is.
The arrival of the boys inside The sand All the centers revolve around playing baseball, trash talking, and trying to please the girls, so the numbers are pretty low when you look at the adult perspective. For the child, however, these are important moments that test their will and teach them important lessons about facing fear, gaining confidence, and causing a ruckus in a place where their antics spill over into this age.
The main conflict that ties it all together is bringing back Scotty’s father Bouth Babball, who accidentally smokes on the property line of Mr. The boys need to come up with a plan to find the ball and escape the wrath of the monsters, which in their minds are almost fairy tales.
It’s easy to criticize sceli-of-Life, growing films like The sand because there is nothing from the face. Adventure is mostly in the heads of children because they haven’t had the chance to discover the world the way cynical adults have. The only thing that matters is playing this game and learning something about them as their bond is beyond reach.
There is no real contradiction inside The sandjust the vibes and the kind of rejuvenating that reminds you of the time when the biggest fights in your life came down the fence to blow up the dog or try not to cool off a big cigarette after getting a cigarette.
Sometimes you just need a reminder that the simple things in life are worth celebrating. As long as your friends are on your side and you share a common goal, it’s easy to lose yourself in the present day because when you’re a child these days feel like forever. A souvenir so family-less that you might not realize you’re living in the good old days until you’re gone, The sand It plays just like you remember it, without the real river or conflict, but with a lot of fun life right now.
The sand it’s streaming on netflix.
