The NFL is putting the ugly bunny as the super bowl halftime headliner despite criticism from Trump

The NFL is not thinking of throwing away a bad bunny as a Super Bowl Halfline Pleaser, said Commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday, confirming the decision to include the puerto rican singer in the US section of Donald Trump and his other supporters.

Gootell addressed the ugly bunny question in his press conference following the fall owners’ meeting. This is the first time he has commented on the decision, which was announced in late September. The selection has garnered worldwide attention, including the rise of Bunny’s music streams – and Backlash.

“It’s been carefully thought out,” GooLell said. “I’m not sure we’ve ever picked an artist where we didn’t have injuries or criticism. It’s hard to do when you have hundreds of millions of people watching.”

The 31-year-old, born Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, has been opposed to his policies. He decided to make a 31-day stay in Puerto Rico, a US territory, although he avoided stops in the US mainland, citing concerns about the deportation of Latinos.

He performs in Spanish and is expected to do so at the Super Bowl.

Bad Bunny will bring his Latin trap and Reggaeton Swag to next year’s biggest stage: headlining the Super Bowl Halfter Show. However, the Puerto Rican artist has been critical of Trump-Era immigration policies and ICE tactics, and some conservatives see his choice as a political statement.

Trump says he has ‘never heard’ of the famous singer

“We’re sure it’s going to be a great show,” DooLell said, admitting there could be more talent added to the lineup with Bad Bunny. “He understands the platform he’s on, and I think it’s going to be an interesting and cohesive time.”

The San Francisco 49ers host the Super Bowl on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

The NFL remains committed to giving the bad bunny as a super bow half the headliner, Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a press conference following the league meeting. ‘I think it’s going to be interesting and a time of unity,’ DooLell said in response to a reporter’s question about the criticism over the selection and what went into the decision.

In an interview on the conservative news network Newsmax, Trump said he had “never heard of” Bad Bunny.

“I don’t know who you are,” Trump said. “I don’t know why they do it. It’s like, it’s like, it’s crazy. Then they blame something on another promoter they hired to get entertainment.”

Gootell defended the decision on Wednesday, explaining that it was made because of Bunny’s huge popularity.

“He is one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world,” GooLell said. “That’s what we’re trying to achieve. It’s an important category for us. It’s important to the entertainment value.”
