Newly filed government records related to AVIATER AVIADER AVIATOR Amelia Earhart have been made public.
The US National Archives released 4,624 pages related to Earhart’s Electra disappearance on Friday.
A variety of document databases that store known communications, maps, tables and logs.

The report began shortly after Earhart’s final transmission; It lasted 16 days, until July 18, 1937.
Earhart’s last confirmed transit was reconfirmed in a report at 1912 GMT near 157° East Longitude, 337° South Latitude.
Four different locations were identified as possible locations.
The report details the search by the USS Colorado and USS Lexington that covered nearly 250,000 square miles of the Pacific. The PBy-1 Seaplanes, meanwhile, search a 25,000-square-meter area of the sea every day.

Four different locations were identified as potential landing sites, along with cautionary notes.
McKean Island was mentioned as “a recent disturbance of Gardo Surce,” while Gardner Island (Nikumaroro) showed “signs of habitation or marks of fire.”

Purdue University has delayed an expedition to search for Amelia Earhart’s missing plane from Nikumaroro to next year, due to issues with permits, and time constraints.
MCKean Reef contained “unusual debris,” while the search team spotted a “dark object, possibly damaged,” in the Sydney Island Lagoon.
The signal part of the Navy Report notes there were seven reliable signals received between July 2 and July 6.

Two were entered near Gardner Island – supporting the Nikumaroro doctrine.

Under this calculation, his expected flight time was extended by nearly 40 minutes beyond the original caution estimate, suggesting that the flicker may have passed Howland.
The report also confirmed that the Navy did not find any confirmed aircraft debris.
It said, “There is no evidence of aircraft still within search radio range.”
The memo, dated November 18, 1936, also shows the Navy’s request to help raise the plane’s rocket ahead of its scheduled 1937 flight.

“The Department of the Navy will cooperate in raising the plane of Miss Amelia Uarhart … on Midway Island, and perform such other duties as may be necessary to prepare and carry out this mission,” it reads.
In addition, various documents show that earhart’s husband, George Putnam, was also her boss. He spoke to the Navy about travel issues.

The Navy did not fund Earhart’s trip, but it was authorized to help with financial aid.

“Japan wishes to express its deepest condolences for the looming tragedy,” the message said.
“He did so in the name of both the government and the people.”

It continues, “The Office of the Government of the government of the South Seas has ordered all ships, stations and sentinels near the Marshall Islands, the event suspected of this accident, to provide all the resources available to find the missing plane.”
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced the release of the Earhart documents on X. He added that as agencies receive other files, those documents will be released on a rolling basis.
“Bring it to the President [Donald] Trump’s promise, the release of the Amelia Queens files will shine a light on the disappearance of America’s beloved appendix that has been at the center of decades of uncertainty,” said a statement last week.
