The New York Daily News endorses independent Andrew Cuomo of New York City May Sunday, warning that Democrat Zohran Mamdani proved to be a hack by the one who was wearing “.
“ZOHRAN Mamdani’s performance in the construction of the Mayor’s term revealed an ongoing problem with his campaign,” said the New York Daily News Editorial Board. “It’s a house of cards built with sound bite and filled with antisemitism. But he stumbles and asked to step in naïve, but dangerous with the future mayor.”
The board continued, “while Andrew Cuomo has many well-documented faults, including those that led him to run for governor in 2021, a decade as governor proves that he is a competent manager and can do the job of running a competent city government and can do a good job of running city government.”

The New York Daily News criticized Mamdani for not having plans on how to pay for his high-profile campaign promises, such as raising life expectancy, without raising other issues such as policing and housing.
“[I]It is important to pay attention to what Mamdani does and does not talk about. He won’t answer when the going gets tough. He may be attractive on the surface with his slogans and promises, but underneath there is a hollowess who will end up disappointing his supporters and putting New York in a bad place,” the board said.

In contrast, the Board argued that CUOMO has a “greater record,” bringing more experience to the position than any candidate before him.
“New York is not a city that stands still, it must move forward or fall back. With Mamdani we risk going back. With CUOMO we can move forward.
FOX News Digital reached out to both the Cuomo and Mamdani campaigns for comment but did not immediately receive responses.
