The mysterious interstellar object began suddenly, scientists say
Since it was first observed in early July, scientists were attracted by 3i / Atlas – the third object in history to be seen moving around the entire Solar Scieling.
The visitor, often suspected to be a comet, has been racing through our star system in a fiery environment, reaching its closest approach to the sun on October 29.
With such a close approach, scientists were surprised to note that 3i / atlas flashed much faster than they expected. Comets tend to form tails of gas and dust as they approach the Sun, as their radiation causes the solid ice to gasify, causing material to be ejected from their surface that then reflects more light.
However, astronomers were caught off guard by how quickly the 3i / atlas ‘hardness grew with solar observations, and the relationship of the European Solar Observatory (SOHO), and the National Ocernic Agency Administrations SACHEARS SATETH SATELLITE.
Relying on these preferences is a stopgap measure, because preferences based on Earth will not be able to track an object until they can track an object behind the Sun in early December.
