The LA Auto Show ends this weekend. Here are the new EVS you can buy today

Thousands of people are expected to move to Downtown La as this year Los angeles auto show Wrapping up on Sunday. This event at the Los Angeles Convention Center is one of the oldest and largest auto shows in the country and features new cars and concept cars, including the latest in EVs.

EVS are always a prominent feature at the LA Auto Show, and this year there were new ones available for purchase in addition to those at the Carmaker lineup. The show has long relied on California’s reputation as a climate leader to introduce the latest gas technologies. This year it comes at an important moment. The Trump administration ended the rebates that lowered the price of EVs, helping the oil industry. It is unclear what effect this will have on sales.

Electric vehicles are one of the government’s top priorities, including climate change. The State is committed to 100% Decarbonay by 2045 and has prioritized the transition away from slog- and polluting – building fusion engines.

Among the EVS shown this year are the 2026 version of the Nissan Leaf, which now offers an estimated 303 miles on a charge, and the Chevy Bolt, which offers an estimated 255 miles. The Bolt is returning due to “popular demand,” after being discontinued in 2023, company officials said. The starting price for selling both cars is $29,000.

The auto show also saw new models debut, including the Jeep Recon – a wrangler-style EV that the company is promoting as “the only fully electric range” The range of the hyundai ioniq 6 n has not been announced but is expected to reach 257 miles when the car goes on sale this morning.

Luxury EVS on display include the $77,000 Rivian Rivian and the $80,000 Lucid Gravenity, which feature ranges of up to 410 and 450 miles, respectively. .

In addition to canceling rebates on new and used EVs, the Trump administration has moved to block California’s ban on the sale of gas-powered vehicles, making it a case from the state for a comeback.

Advice actions attract many buyers to be Snap evs before government incentives expirewith California reporting a record number of zero vehicle sales in the third quarter of 2025 – just shy of 126,000, or about 29% of new car sales.

However, heads out of Washington, DC, seem to be giving away some motorists. Brands such as Acura, Ford and GM have in recent months announced plans to discontinue some electric models and scrap programs for the youth. The Weather Report website noted that there was a lack of enthusiasm for EVs surrounding the events surrounding this year’s LA Auto Show, and that “fanfare about the electric future was muted.”

In October, the first full month after the federal tax credit was repealed, EVs accounted for just 5.2% of new vehicle sales in the US, according to the Consumer Insights Company. The number was a significant fall from the all-time high of 12.9% in September.

The weather for November is very similar, it is expected to be 6% of the national car sales.

However, many in the industry believe that the bull will reach more than a bump in the road.

“The fittest will survive, so the ones that have really made a really good EVS, you’re going to see them jump,” said Ed Loh, head of automotive programming, in an interview with FOX at the AUTO Show.

The show also comes as California continues to consolidate its EV charging network. The state in September surpassed 200,000 total public and shared EV charging ports — an increase of about 20,000 from March, according to the California Energy Commission. Now there are more charging ports than gas pumps.

Gov. Gavin Newlom also confirmed the government’s commitment to electric cars in a big sequence in June by reducing car emissions and subsidizing cleaner manufacturers, among other things.

In addition, the global picture of EV remains bright. The International Energy Agency predicts the sale of 17 million electric vehicles worldwide by 2024, an increase of 25% year-on-year.

Sales by 2025 are expected to exceed 20 million, or more than a quarter of the cars sold worldwide.
