Two months after the transformation of I-Usa USA founder Charlie Kirk at Tah Valley University, his director of security said that the tragedy was revealed by security flaws in how the event was organized and secured.
Brian Harpole, Veteran law enforcement officer and Founder of Integrity Security Solutions, said that “Shawn Ryan shows that repeated skits about roof exposure, drone restrictions and staffing gaps.
“We were told the roof was covered,” Harpole said. “The chief said, ‘I’ve got you covered.’ I took him at his word. “
“We’re not going to break the law to do what needs to be done, so we relied on the police and nobody ever went up there.”

Harpole said he requested more security based on high-risk events. He remembered the change in the USA as seen in San Francisco when protesters broke barriers and his group fought for a way out with little legal help.
“We’ve seen it before,” he said. “In San Francisco we had street pick ups, people climbing fences, our exits being blocked. We knew how bad things could get.”
Those experiences, he said, shaped his requests for more officials and shoor support in Utah.
“We told them this was open, surrounded by high ground – we needed more eyes, more cover. But we were told we would be treated.”

Harpole said Reliability brought in 12 contractors, nearly double its regular workforce, but legal restrictions limited it to about 30 feet of stage.
“Our responsibility stopped in the bubble,” he said. “We can’t arrest or block student buildings – that’s a legal duty.”
He said the Orem Police Department, which operates a drone and SWAT unit, has never been called to help, despite the assistance agreement.
“They told us later they were never asked to come,” Harpole said.

Turning Point USA says safety depends on rooftop awareness where Charlie Kirk was killed
Harpole said that he sang directly to the students’ stairs leading to the roof terrace which gives a clear line of sight to the stage.
“Three meters to the right or to the left or to the left and there is no shot – that’s how accurate the angle is,” he said.
He said his team prepared to deploy drones in Overwatch but was denied approval under FAA restrictions and campus restrictions.
“This is Utah, not Iraq,” Harpole said. “We couldn’t put snipers on the roof or launch drones. We did what we could within the rules.”

Harpole said that the integrity organized by UVu for about two weeks and depended on the college police on the roof of the building and was exceeded due to legal restrictions. He said the promised coverage was not in place.
“This was a textbook example of what happens when the lines of authority are blurred,” he said. “We could not do without our law, and the people who could not.”
He also added that CREEETIPITITITITITITITITITION information, “It was built for concentrated protection, and used vehicles as heavy vehicles behind the stage,” but those steps could not compensate for the gaps in the police broadcast.
The Utah Department of Public Safety confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading the criminal investigation alongside the Utah County Attorney’s office. Prosecutors have charged Tyler James Robinson, 22, with capital murder in connection with the shooting and intend to seek the death penalty.

The university also emphasized the role of its police and new security funds.
“University Police play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment by enforcing local, state and federal laws while promoting University values, integrity and inclusiveness,” the statement said. “Officers protect students, staff, visitors and property, and take a proactive approach to crime prevention, education and community involvement.”
