The California governor’s race continues to heat up, with criticism from Trump. Eric Swalwell jumps in

San Francisco Bay Area Democrat eric Swalell, FOIC’s foil and a common target of President Trump and Republicans, on Thursday announced his bid for governor of California.

The congressman announced his bid during an appearance on ABC’s late-night show, adding a little Hollywood flourish to a crowded, crowded race looking for ways to find fire in the 2026 election.

Voting interest in the race remains moribund, especially after California’s most prominent Republican nominee — former Vice President Kamala Harrilsa — opted out of the race after months of speculation. About 44% of registered voters said in late October that they had never chosen a candidate to lead California, the most populous state in the union and the world’s fourth-largest economy.

The lack of a blockbuster election in the race, however, continues to attract others to it. Earlier this week, well-paid Democrats Tom Steyer announced his run.

Swallell, a 45-year-old former Republican who was running for President in 2020, said his decision was driven by the big issues facing California and the threats posed by Trump in the White House.

“People are scared and the prices are high, and I see the next Governor of California has two jobs – one is to keep the worst President out of our homes, streets and lives,” Swalwell said in an interview with the Times. “The second task is to bring what I call the new California, and that is especially and the most dangerous and in the highest buildings where we have the highest rate in the country, and so we need to bring that.”

The Gov. Gavin Newlom can’t run the bill due to term limits, and is currently weighing in on the 2028 presidential term.

None of the candidates in the race, including Swalewell, have the extoriety of the state, the success or the money circulation of the most recent governors in California: NewsOm, the political icon of California, Arnold Brown and the movie star Arnold Schwarzenze.

“If you look at the past three governors, they’ve all been humane,” said Jim Deboo, Bloboom’s chief, at a political conference at USC on Tuesday. “If you look at the field right now, most people don’t know that much about a tight race despite their political angst.”

About a dozen long-term Democrats and Republicans are running for Governor next year, including: Rep. Wand. of public order Tony Thurmond; Former administration Betty Yee and conservative commentator Steve Hilton. And speculation continues to be exchanged about the billiards for sale rucruire Rick Caruso and Attry. Gen. Rob Bonta is likely to enter the race.

On Thursday, Thurmond raised taxes on the wealthy to fund education, health care, firefighting and construction. This proposal was seen in part as Digle hid from Steyer and Caruso, both of whom used their wealth to protect themselves from running for office.

“Nayseers say ultra-wealthy California already pays enough, and that billions in taxes will stifle talent and force companies out of our state,” he said in an online video. “I don’t buy it.”

Steyer painted his decision to leave the fund he created in California as an example of his desire to bring back state residents in an ad that will take effect on Friday.

“It’s really Goddamn simple. Put cost of living issues in place or get the hell out of the way. The people of California have earned this,” says someone who opposes this, “says this question of taking companies that refuse to pay state taxes and gaps in oil and tobacco. “Let’s compromise at the copper ends: It’s too expensive to live here.”

Porter also trailed Steyer, another sign that the intensity of the race is heating up as June approaches quickly.

“The New Billionaire in our competition claims that he will fight with the industries that get the rich help – fossil fuel companies, big private funds – at the expense of the bottom Californians,” said X on Wednesday.

The previous Congress was the subject of recent attacks from Democratic rivals in the governor’s race after videos surfaced of journalists swearing and swearing. Yee said he should drop out of the race and Villaraigoosa sprayed him in the ads.

Villaraigosa also attacked Cillarra for his connections with the sock that rocked last week, including money in one of his campaign accounts taken from his BECERA magnate.

“We don’t have a strong or strong opposition party in California, so you end up seeing this action on the dance floor of the primary, obviously, among the Democrats, in the center who will advise you as Speaker Robert Rivas. “Obviously there is a great relationship for a long time and a long solidarity and connection between these people. And what will happen?”

The ability to protect Californians from Trump’s policies and politics and to address the state’s access, housing and child support systems will be very important to the governor’s ear. His choice to announce his decision on Kimmel’s show – The host’s show was briefly suspended by WALT Disney-owned ABC under pressure from Trump after the death of activist Charlie Kirk.

Kimmel thanked his support at the time, which included a Congressman who referred to the pro-Kimmel sold to his colleagues in Washington, DC, before the two discussed the future of the State.

“I love California, it’s the greatest state in the world. The country,” Stalwell said. “But that’s why it bothers me to see Californians running in the fields where they work with Ice agents or troops on our roads. It’s bad to write down.”

There is a history of Californians announcing campaigns on late night television. Schwarzenegger launched his 2003 gubernatorial bid on “The Tonight Show,” hosted by Jay Leno; Swallel announced his failed presidential bid on “the late show with Stephen Colbert.”

As a member of the Swalwell humanitarian committee, he said, he traveled to nearly 40 countries, and he was trying to maintain a visible relationship by creating a California dedicated to cancer research and other programs.

The Congressman is perhaps best known for criticizing Trump on cable news shows. But you face enough attacks.

In 2020, Swalwell was nominated because of his association with Chinese Spy Fang Fang, who raised money for his merger campaign. He severed ties with him in 2015 after intelligence officials tipped him and other members of Congress about Chinese law enforcement efforts. He was not wrongly accused.

He was also investigated by the Department of Justice over allegations of mortgage fraud, which he dismissed as his government because of his outright criticism of Trump.

Swalell served on the East Bay City Council of Dublin before being elected to Congress in 2012 by defeating Rep. Pete Stark.

A native of Iowa, Sulowell grew up in Dublin, a “town of low expectations” that was dubbed “Scrublin” at the time. He said after graduating from law school, he served on the Local Planning Commission which helped transform Dublin. The town increased housing, attracted 500 tenants, greatly improved the number of students going to college and humble developers to improve schools, senior citizen services, and police and fire services.

“We have whole foods, nothing you can’t buy,” she said.
