The Blue Jays Head to the World Series After George Sprinker’s Clutch Home Run

– For todayNow you can listen to FOX news headlines!

For the first time since 1993, the Toronto Blue Jays are headed to the national series.

And they can thank this one successful man for the opportunity.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, with runners on second and third with nobody out, George Sprinker stepped to the plate with a chance to tie the ball game 3-1 instead of the Seattle series, wishing for the first world series appearance in franchise history.

Chinker decided to do better, sitting on a fastball from Eduard Bazardo and launching it over the left field fence to take a 4-3 lead. That was the swing the blue jays needed to clinch their American league victory.

The Blue Jays will now face the Retianing-Champion Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday night.

The Blue Jays force Game 7 with a key win over the Mariners

This was a series full of deatrics from the start, but the blue jays found themselves heading back home down 3-2 in the series and needing a straight pennant win. They made that happen Sunday night, as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Addison Barger brought in two runs to force a Win-or-Go-Home-Home 7 game.

But the night didn’t include Toronto’s unpopularity, as Josh Naylor put Seattle ahead early with an RBI single to score Julio Rodriguez. However, Daulten Varsho, who had been another clutch Blue Jays hitter throughout the postseason, hit a single into center to score Speciver.

Then, in the top of the third inning, Rodriguez got the Mariners back on top, hitting a solo home run into deep left field. And who but Cal Raleigh, the AL MVP hopeful, came through when his team needed him with a home run to make it a 3-1 ballgame in the top of the fifth inning.

With the Mariners’ Pitching Stading being one of the best in baseball all year, there were even options for who to send out late in this game in what was supposed to be a handful of situations. Mariners manager Dan Wilson went with Bryan Woo after George Kirby and gave him four innings, and had him clean up the fifth and sixth innings.

But Woo opened the door with a walk to start the seventh inning, and Iyaya Kiner-wafefa singled to center for Rogers and left the Outs with runners on. After Andres Gimenenez drove in a sacrifice bunt, Bunardo came to face Sprongiser.

The Springler came out on top.

Jeff Hoffman finished off the Mariners in the ninth inning, striking out all three batters, including Rodriguez, to start the celebration.

Blue Day hopes they can do what that team did in 1993, as the Toronto team secured back-to-back World Series titles.
