Intelligence sources have told FOX News Digital that Lakanwal has faced deadly ties to various agencies in the US government, including the CIA, because of his work as a member of the partner force in Kandahar.

National Guardsmen injured in ‘targeted shooting blocks’ from the White House
Multiple senior Fox intelligence sources told FOX News Digital that the shooting is being investigated as a possible act of international terrorism.
FBI officials confirmed that two West Virginia National Guardsmen remain in critical condition.

In an online address to the nation on Wednesday, President Donald Trump called it a “powerful attack” and explained how one of the security guards “was attacked in a style attack on the big face.”
Trump added that the “joyous beating” was something of “an act of evil and an act of hate and an act of terror. It was a crime against our nation.”
“The hearts of all Americans tonight are with those two things for members of West Virginia and their families,” he added. “The love of our entire country is pouring out, and we lift them up in our prayers as we are filled with grief and sorrow for those who were shot, we are determined to ensure that this animal who did this mental thing pays the highest possible price.”

“This is a targeted shooting,” DC Mayor Muriel Bowser explained during a press conference Wednesday afternoon following the shooting. “One person appeared to be watching the guards closely. That particular person was kept in custody.”
