The Texas A & M Committee has ruled that the University’s decision to fire after a student was removed from a course in opposition to a course in children’s literature that the authorship of women would not have mattered.
A video recorded at the beginning of this year by a female student showed asking Melissa McCoul, if teaching the ideas of royalty is legal, if the President is reading legal ideas, pointing to President Donald Trump’s intention to remove the subject of higher education.
The Internal Affairs Committee ruled that the university failed to follow due process and did not demonstrate good cause for terminating McCoul. The Committee unanimously voted this week that Dr McCoul’s “summary dismissal was inappropriate.”
The university said in a statement that Interim President Tommy Williams has received the committee’s recommendation of absence and will make a decision after reviewing it.

McCoul’s attorney, Amanda Reichek, said the dispute may end up in court because the university seems to want to continue fighting, and the interim president is facing similar political pressure.
“Dr. McCoul asserts that the very serious reasons A&M is using for its termination are the basis of the University’s true motivation:” Reichek said in a statement.
Gov. Greg Abbott and other Republicans called for his firing after watching the video.
State wrote: “Fire a professor who worked against the Texas law,” X wrote in September.
The video led to public criticism of University President Mark Welsh, who later resigned, although he did not give a reason and never mentioned the video in his resignation announcement.

State rep. Brian Harrison said in a statement to Fox News Digital at the time that “Texas A & M Indoctrination President is banned.”
The opening video posted by Harrison on Social Media showed a “Gender Unicorn” slide that highlighted different gender identities and expressions.
Students in the class told the Texas Tribune they were discussing a book called “Jude Saves the World,” about a middle schooler who comes out as a loner. Several other books included in this course also touch on LGBTQ + issues.
After a back-and-forth argument about how to teach a lesson on gender identity, McCoul asked the student to leave the class. Harrison also posted another recording of a student meeting with Welsh that showed the University President banning McCoul from studying.

Welsh said that when McCoul was fired he continued to teach content in a children’s literature course that “didn’t conform to any good expectations of the mainstream curriculum.” He also said that the content of the course does not match the descriptions of its catalog.
“If we allow different course content to be taught by what is advertised, we allow our students. If it is found that our leaders get strategies to continue to understand the published content.

Earlier this month, Texas A&M students issued a new policy that states that there is no course of study or topics related to gender identity or gender identity “unless approved in advance of the campus.”
