Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. Rep. John Fetterman, D-Pa., agreed to condemn antisemitism in a rare moment of sharing ideas and praise during an interview Tuesday on “Hannity.”

“I just want to commend John Fetterman for the courage he’s done… he’s shown incredible courage in speaking out against anti-Semitism in his own party. And he’s done it at great cost to himself,” Sen. Cruz told host Sean Hannity.

The conversation between the two senators comes after the shooting of 15 people on December 14 at Bondi Beach that left 15 dead.

Authorities say the shooting happened when about 1,000 people gathered at Australia’s most popular beach to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah.

“What we saw in Bondi Beach was the latest manifestation of this evil, and this evil is spreading. This hatred of Israel. This hatred of Jews,” Cruz said.

“See [Jews] they can’t even celebrate, you know, one of their holidays without being shot and cut and targeted,” Fetterman added.

What Fetterman called a “horrific massacre” also left 42 people hospitalized, including two police officers.

One of the dead is a Holocaust survivor, according to reports.

The Democratic congressman insisted that anti-Semitism is an issue that must be “dealt with,” and Cruz agreed, sharing harsh criticism of Bondi’s deadly attack.

“It’s shocking, it’s terrible, and it’s dangerous, and we need to stand up and put it forward,” the Texas senator said.

New South Wales Police say two suspects, a father and son, have been taken into custody. Father, 50, died; his son, 24, is still in hospital due to injuries.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the attack was motivated by “the ideology of the Islamic State.”

Sen. Cruz has criticized the “radical” stance of Muslims.

“Radical Islamic terrorism, they are fighting us,” he told Fox News. “This is their intention. There is evidence that these are the murderers of the son [sic] aligned with ISIS.”

SCHUMER FIRED FOR ‘GOING TWO’ BEFORE CONNECTING WITH MASS SHOOTING IN AUSTRALIA

Ahmed al Ahmed, a 43-year-old Muslim man, is said to have disarmed one of the two gunmen. This act of bravery was captured on a video that showed him grabbing the gun out of the attacker’s hands.

Ahmed received an outpouring of praise for his life-saving actions. Albanese called him “Australia’s hero.”

Israeli officials have sharply accused the Australian government of failing to protect Jewish communities amid what they see as a rise in anti-Semitic incidents.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in response to the shooting at X, revealed that he wrote a letter to Albanese four months ago.

“I told him: ‘Your policy encourages terrorism. It encourages anti-Semitism,'” Netanyahu wrote to X.

As their discussion expanded beyond the Bondi attack, Cruz and Fetterman also expressed support for President Donald Trump’s destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“The single most important foreign policy decision that President Trump has made in his second term has been the decision to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities,” Cruz said.

“When the Ayatollah sings the death of America, I believe him,” added the Republican senator. “The president as commander-in-chief is responsible for keeping the American people safe and allowing the Ayatollah to acquire a nuclear weapon that he could use to kill thousands or millions of Americans was an unacceptable risk.”

Sen. Fetterman called President Trump’s bombshell “the right move”.

“I believe I was the only Democrat who wanted and fully supported bombing Iran’s nuclear facility,” Fetterman added.

The conversation turned to domestic concerns, including the rise of antisemitic incidents in the United States.

Fetterman has criticized former President Joe Biden’s border policies as “disastrous,” calling for increased immigration screenings.

“It also makes sense to bring in people who have the kinds of values that align with our values,” Fetterman explained. “That’s not about free speech. That’s about bringing people who want to be the same, and who want to build their lives in our country, and not be part of the forces that are destroying our nation.”
