Shohei Ohtani was ejected in the third inning of the World Series Game 7 After Bo Bichette 3 Hr

Shohei Ohtani was pulled from the mound in Game 7 of the World Series after allowing a solo homer by B Bichette in the third Saturday night.

Pitching on three days off, Ohtani was hitting 100.9 mph with his fastball but seemed to run out of steam in the third.

After advancing on Nathan Lutan’s sacrifice fly, Ohtani threw a wild runner to Vladimir Guerrero JR. Dodger Manager Dave Roberts intentionally walked a guerrero after this, and his 51st, was a hanging slide that bichette disappeared 442 bichette.

It was Bichette’s first homer since Sept. 2, just days before a left knee injury sidelined him in the series.

Ohtani allowed three runs and five hits in 2 1/3 innings before being replaced by left-hander Justin Wrobleski. Ohtani walked two and struck out three.

He had plenty of velocity, throwing three strikes at 100 mph or more, but not much control. He struck out six and walked one in his Game 4 start, when he threw 93 innings in a 6-2 loss.

OHTANI scheduled the blue jays with long delays before warming up in the first and third innings. He was on base in the top of the first and made the last out in the top of the third, and each time it took about 4 1/2 minutes before he was ready. The UMPires didn’t seem to rush him, and Jays manager John Schneider cried several times.

Previously, Ohtani became the first pitcher to get a hit in World Series Game 7 since Jesse Orosco of the New York Mets in 1986.

He singled in Coronato’s Max Scherzer to start the game, moved to a ground ball and advanced to third on a fly ball but was left stranded when the mokie bets appeared.

Ohtani is the first pitcher with a hit in a World-Take-That World Series game since 1975, when Bill Lee and Don Gullett each had a hit.

Ohtani’s only previous outing on three days’ rest was on April 21, 2017, when he allowed two hits over seven innings and a 2-0 loss at Wans City. His start in Boston on April 17 was interrupted by a rain delay after pitching 31 innings.

Starting Ohtani makes more sense than using him. Under the rule adopted through 2022, pitchers who start games in the batting order can remain in the game as a designated hitter after leaving the mound.

If Ohtani were to start this game as a DH only and could take the mound, the Dodgers would lose a DH and pitchers would have to at in that slot if it was released.
