Sex Ofter Weeflensender mistakenly released from UK prison re-arrested after Manut

London – A convicted criminal released by mistake At the beginning of the London jail he was re-arrested on Friday after more than a week, police said.

Brahim Kaddour-Cherif was one of two men freed in an accidental release from Wandswerth prison two weeks ago to form a government and focus on a full-fledged government in prison.

Another inmate, Billy Smith, 35, who was sentenced to four years for forgery and was accidentally released on the same day as the sheriff, turned himself in at the Victoria-Era Lockup on Thursday.

The 24-year-old Cherif, who has committed an offense against the previous conviction of improper understanding, was serving time for a misdemeanor with intent to steal. The Algerian who backed the UK’s legalization in 2019 was in the first stages of deportation when he was allowed to walk the grounds of the prison on Monday.

He was stopped by the police in North London when he was arrested by the national sky news. He first denied that he was the person they were looking for, but then he said that he would not be blamed for being on the streets.

“I’m not Brahim, bro,” he started to tell the policeman, who said he could see his different nose. “Everybody knows him, he (studies),” said Cherif.

After the police pulled out their phones to look at the picture of the wanted man, he successfully admitted that he was looking for Cherif.

“It’s not my fault,” said Cherif. “They took me out illegally.”

Both men were badly acquitted in Wandswerth, which was built in south-west London in the mid-19th century, and was already under scrutiny another prisoner escaped Two years ago by getting stuck under a food delivery truck.

The controversial release followed strict security checks that were supposed to take place after an asylum seeker who has inspired a surge in anti-infection protests was accidentally released from Chelmsford prison, east London, on Oct. 24.

Prison chiefs were called to a meeting on Thursday to discuss the lapses and said efforts were being made to update the system that uses Pepha’s prison records.

The wrongful discharge has become a source of heated debate and political debt for the Labor government after it was heard from the previous side.

According to government figures, 262 prisoners were wrongly released in the year ending March 2025, a 128% increase on the previous 12 months.

The Conservatives say the Labor government should be blamed for the policy of releasing some prisoners earlier to ensure prisons are not overcrowded.

But staff blamed 14 years of savings and years of recruitment that killed the prison service’s resources.

“We have inherited a prison system in crisis and I am appalled at the scale of wrongful release this is causing,” said Justice Secretary David Lammy after the arrest. “I’m willing to tackle this problem, but there’s a mountain to climb that can be done overnight.”

An official review of the controversy has begun, but Ian Acheson, a former prison governor and adviser to UK government officials, cited overcrowding in UK government prisons as a reason for the accidental release.

Overcrowding has put more pressure on prison administrators to catch criminals faster, which has led to more inmate movement within the prison system, Acheson told The Telegraph.

“It is quite possible that one of the reasons for the increase in these errors has been the push and the most important thing is to get people out,” Acheson told the Telegraph.
