Rob and Michele Reiner’s Deaths Came After Multiple Police Calls: Report

Police are said to have responded to multiple “disturbances” inside Rob Reiner again Michele Singer Reinerhome before their death.

According to the report of Daily Mailpublished on Tuesday, December 23, Los Angeles Police Department records obtained by the agency show that authorities had been listening to calls from the deceased couple’s Brentwood home “at least six times” and “for more than a decade.”

The outlet details the allegations of going to authorities in “2013, 2014, 2017. [and] twice in 2019,” before the visit on December 14 when Rob and Michele were found dead at the ages of 78 and 70, respectively.

The report also included alleged information about the nature of “calls for service,” including “alleged family violence” and “social and mental health evaluations.”

News of Rob and Michele’s death broke on December 14, when a family spokesperson confirmed it in a statement Variety. “It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are deeply saddened by this sudden loss, and ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” it read.

After their death, the Deputy Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department Alan S. Hamilton confirmed in a press conference that Rob and Michele were found with “stab wounds.” Us confirmed on December 15 that the couple’s son Nick Reiner he was arrested for murder. He was taken into custody that day and charged with two counts of murder. He faces life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

Rob and Michele have publicly discussed Nick’s struggles with substance abuse in the past, and its impact on their family. Nick, 32, entered rehab for the first time at age 15 and continued to be in and out of 17 treatment centers for several years afterward.

When asked how “bad things are” at the Reiner house, Rob said, “it looks like it’s in a movie.” Rob explained, “The father character … he didn’t know what to do, so he listened to whoever had a desk and a diploma. But the truth of the matter is you have to be who you are and I made mistakes and I didn’t go with my gut feeling and I know Nick better than some professional who has never met him and I think, if I had listened to my best instincts about Nick.

News of his frequent visits to the Reiner home comes after a 2015 clip from the “Dopey” podcast resurfaced that recalls Nick going to great lengths, including a plan to appear mentally unstable, to get medication for his addiction struggles. “I was like, ‘How do I show these moms that I’m crazy?'” she said on the podcast. So, I was like, ‘I’m going to throw a rock through the window.’

Nick refused to enter a plea in court during his first appearance wearing a blue suicide vest. The hearing saw him speak only when spoken to, saying “Yes, your honor” when asked if he agreed to waive his right to a speedy trial.

Nick’s arraignment is scheduled for January 7, 2026.
