Rhode Island High School will reinstate a teacher who was placed on administrative leave after calling USA Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk “garbage.”

In an email sent Friday and obtained by FOX News Digital, Special Superintendent Bob Mitchell of Barrington Public Schools said social studies researcher Benjamin Fillo will return to do this in violation of the district’s media policy.

“The high school teacher at the center of the latest Independent District investigation will return to the classroom on Dec. 1,” an email from Mitchell Read. “The State Investigator’s report now confirms that the teacher violated the district’s social media policy, which has led to a major disruption in our district. This is to address the details of internal actions, the district is moving forward and maintaining strict expectations of employee behavior.”

He said the school will increase security measures and has been working with Barrington Police, Rhode Island State Police, the FBI Providence office and other local agencies to coordinate the response to the Rempstatement.

Mitchell also said “students who have concerns or need a place to process recent events will have access to school counselors will have access to school counselors, our district staff, and our district staff. In addition, our district professionals have developed advanced health services.”

Heather Ryan, a parent of a ninth grader at Barrington High School, told FOX News Digital that she is “disturbed” by the decision.

District spokeswoman Sarah Dell told Fox Digital News: “The independent investigation is complete, and the teacher will return to the classroom. Because of this type of personnel, we cannot discuss further details.”

Dell added, “We are working closely with the Bringson Police Department, including local partners, on the incident, and they are focused on connecting our community.

He also said the school knows “that some families may wish to speak to their school administrators about their student’s needs, and the school will work with them to ensure appropriate support, including any student who may need space to talk or process recent events.”
