Kristin Cabot has had enough.

The woman at the center of the Coldplay kiss cam scandal is hitting back after her former employer was embroiled in a controversy over a Gwyneth Paltrow ad that Cabot said crossed the line.

“I was a fan of his company [Goop]which seemed to be about advancing women,” Cabot told The Times. “And then he did this. I thought, ‘How dare he take the beating he got for all the unwrapping stuff.’ Such a hypocrite.”

In July, Cabot, then head of Astronomer’s HR, appeared in the arms of her married boss, Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, at a Coldplay concert when the band found them. They soon broke up, prompting singer Chris Martin to speculate that they might be dating. Time went viral overnight.

Soon after, the astrologer hired Paltrow to appear in a commercial promoting the company — a move that surprised Cabot and opened immediate wounds that would improve his personal and professional life.

Cabot’s anger appeared to center on what she saw as a betrayal of Paltrow’s carefully cultivated image as a women’s health first.

Paltrow, who popularized the term “splitting conscience” during her divorce from Martin, has long positioned herself as a voice of empathy and self-awareness.

The Coldplay concert moment quickly exploded into an internet firestorm, spawning memes, speculation and critical analysis. What some on the Internet took as a joke, Cabot described as a life-changing event with real-world consequences.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Cabot opened up about how the “High Noons couple” led him to this infamous moment and detailed the fallout that followed.

“I made a bad decision and had a few High Noons and danced and misbehaved with my boss,” said Cabot.

Coldplay host Chris Martin wonders if the couple are having an affair as they caught themselves on Kiss Cam. The two are rumored to be Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot.

“They’re either dating or shy,” Martin joked after seeing Cabot and Byron kissing on camera. (@calebu2/TMX)

“And it’s nothing. And I took responsibility and quit my job for that. That’s the price I chose to pay. I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really hurt. But you don’t have to be threatened with death for them.”
