Reddit is thriving in the AI Era, as fast, artificial content floods almost every corner of the Internet. To that end, the company announced that it is “redesigning the Reddit experience,” focusing on a modern interface with advanced search capabilities. It will continue to release its productive AI tool, Red Answers, and new AI features will help users to interpret different rules in each clause and bring higher understanding.
Reddit said 75 million users used Reddit’s Reddit functionality each week in the third quarter, and that number is expected to grow. “RedDit’s responses provide users with curated, powerful community information that is often more helpful than traditional search results,” Huffman said. “Our goal is to have one, great search experience.”
“The Smart Move to the ‘forward search’ is a more immersive experience, but it’s still pedestrian,” Labinski said. “The winning strategy is to power reddit’s frenzy of reinvention and IP with AI, while leaving human interactions in chaos.”
Reddit continues to add more AI, specifically with moderation, translation, video and interactive features. RedDit has introduced AI-based Moderator Tools to over 3,000 communities, with a wide rollout across a wide area. For example, moderators can use AI to view a summary of a user’s profile. “We’re using AI to make it easier with scripted or scripted rules that should be automated to make balancing fun and efficient,” Huffman said.
Meanwhile, Reddit’s Ai translation now handles 30 languages, and the company plans to expand this to drive growth in other countries.
The platform recently hosted its first video AMA (Ask Me Anything) about NASA and plans to continue expanding the video to its more than 100,000 communities. Video comment responses are also increasing.
RedDit’s advertising platform continues to see updates, and the team is currently developing more effective ads. Huffman said ads remain a “core business” and continue to roll out their brand ads with machine learning capabilities, which use user intent data to inform who to show ads to.
