Poland mentions an explosive device detonated on a railway between Warsaw and the Ukrainian Border

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tark said Monday’s blast on a rail line used for deliveries to Ukraine was an “unprecedented act of humanity.”

TUKS vowed that Poland would arrest the perpetrators, “No matter who they are.”

When I visited the site on Monday, the Prime Minister said that the incident took place on an important line to deliver aid and weapons to Ukraine. The Polish authorities say they are sure that the explosive device was raised in the Warsaw and Lublin section, and later the damage was found to the high cables.

In September, Poland said that with the help of NATO, it shot down a number of Russian drones that were targeting Ukraine and entered its territory.

A line train driver reported problems with the track around 7:40 a.m. Sunday. Further inspections determined there was damage to a section of the track near the village of Mika, about 100 kilometers southeast of Warsaw, officials said.

“We can say beyond a doubt that an explosive device was attacked, damaging the train tracks,” said Minister of Internal Affairs Marcin Kierwiąski.

It was not immediately clear whether the explosion and damage occurred on Saturday or early Sunday. Two passengers and several employees were on the train, but no injuries were reported, officials said.

The Finnish PM refuses to take note

Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said that the forces plan to inspect the 120-kilometer Warsaw-Lublin-Hrubin-Hrubinzów line, which connects Ukraine by rail and road.

Speaking about Rutte at a press conference in Brussels following the announcement from Poland, Finnish President Stubb said European nations need to keep “cool heads.”

He warned against more and more interference in the name of Russia, warning that, “this is unfortunately a common practice. What Russia is trying to do is to reduce our communities with information and other campaigns.”

In an interview on Saturday at the Finnish military base, Stubb said that Moscow is conducting “two types of war” – a kinetic war in Ukraine and a hybrid war in Europe.

“The line between war and peace is blurred,” Stibb said.

Russia has repeatedly denied previous allegations of attacks involving drone reports near aircraft and disconnected underwater cables in European waters.
