Canadian Olympic Pole Vaulter Alysha Newman turned heads at the last Paris Games, going viral in a celebratory dance after winning the bronze medal.
Newman cleared 4.85 meters for the first Olympic medal of his career.
The athlete-enderwift model and influencer now offers advice to those who wish to follow in his footsteps.

Newman began by thinking about early life experiences that helped question the person today.
“In grade school, I once got the right answer on a test but I didn’t use the method my teacher wanted. He wouldn’t give me more gold stars, but he gave them to other kids who had the same answer,” Newman told Maxim.

“So while everyone else was going to rest, I went to his desk, released the gold star from his shirt, and placed another star to give him the gold star we want.”

He added that people who want to study should avoid seeking validation from others and instead rely on their own confidence.
“That’s my advice: Don’t wait for the world to give you permission. Don’t wait for someone else to validate you. Get your confidence and give yourself a gold star!”

Newman maintains relationships with several major brands, including sportswear and footwear giant Nike. Their combined following across Tiktok, Instagram and Explans Faall is nearly 1 million.
After reflecting on the moment when she was “told I had to choose: be an athlete or be a model,” Newman talked about finding her path.
“Now, I’ve gotten into documentaries, partnerships with amazing brands like Rado and Nike, and even a celebrity shoot for a dude family to raise money in my honor. And now, I’m living full-time on the question,” he said.

Newman set the conference of the Atlantic Coast, the University of Miami, and the Canadian national records when he cleared 4,60 meters in his last home meet as his last storm as his last storm. At the time, that achievement also placed Newman at No 4 in the world rankings.
