A University of Delaware student has been arrested for allegedly targeting campus police

A University of Delaware A student was arrested and charged at the federal and state levels after authorities disrupted a plan allegedly targeting the University of Delaware Police Station.
The US Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware announced that Luqmaan Khan, 25, of Wilmington was arrested Monday after a traffic stop in the city.
During a search of his truck, traffic officers from the New Castle County Police Department found a loaded A.357 Caliber Handgun loaded with three 27-round magazines, according to the attorney’s office, according to the attorney’s office.

University of Delaware University of Delaware professor Laura Carlson said Khan was an undergraduate student at the time of his arrest.
“The university has temporarily suspended the student from the university, which includes a ban on all UD campuses while legal matters are resolved. We are sharing this information with you now as we make this public information,” said a statement to the campus community.
“There are no known or known threats to the University of Delaware Community,” Carlson said. He also explained how authorities released “evidence of a plan targeting the University of Delaware Police Police Police Police Police Station.”

The New Castle County Police Department (NCCPD) announced Tuesday that Khan is facing multiple charges at the state level, including high counts of aggravated assault with deadly force, and misdemeanor counts of bribery.
“On Monday, November 24, 2025, at approximately 11:47 PM, traffic officers from the B-squad were conducting a property check in Parky Park west when they saw a Toyota Tacoma in the city of Parkland, after hours,” the police said. “Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver, and occupant, Luqmaan Khan of Wilmington.”
“Police developed probable cause to arrest Khan outside the vehicle, and he refused to follow.
