Nicolas Cage is an interesting creature because he grows by accident, it seems that he takes any role in himself. Always up for a challenge, we’ve seen him go completely Gonzo in movies like 2018 Messenger and completely insane in 1989 Vampires Ass. Cage’s range and fury are fantastic, and I swear I dedicate my free time to reading because his icons are human. The problem with the cage’s willingness to go all out is that sometimes we have to sort through more of the same entries Songswhich appeared at the beginning of this year and currently remains at the permitted rate of five percent for rotten tomatoes.
Violence for the sake of violence, and with a production rate that makes what is supposed to be a high Western thing one of the attractions of history where the workers refuse to break the character, Songs he is a total punisher pilot. Having seen the entire Nicolas Cage scene in real time as it was released through Redbox, I had high hopes because he has an innate ability to surpass the charismus screen alone. This time, however, I have no idea what he was thinking, because even our true God couldn’t save the day here.
As the title suggests, Songs it starts with all guns blazing. There is a plot of murder that goes wrong, and our protagonist Thomas Keller (Stephen Dorff) flees from New York to find redemption, Kentucky to put down after killing Rockefeller. We are quickly introduced to Val (Heather Graham), a woman with a troubled past who arrives in town with her daughter, Grace (Ava Monsroe Tadross). Trouble follows Thomas wherever he goes, and it doesn’t take long for his brother Robert (Jeremy Kent Jackson) to show his revenge after reviving the mood in the opening scene.
Nicolas Cage’s Ben, a sage-like Gunslinger turned Bible trooper, is added as comic relief, but I’m not sure exactly what he’s going to do here. He speaks in a voice that can only be described as a cross between a walking asthmatic DOM and a chain-smoking preacher attacking a sermon. With the entire rescue community blasted to pieces by hunters who know how to drive Thomas away from Robert’s orders, spiritual leader Jericho (Costas Mandylor) tries to cobble together something of peace.
Songs It becomes an all-out melee between Robert and his tons and Thomas, who is trying to turn over a new leaf. Luckily for him, the citizens of Redemption take their community’s name very seriously and won’t go down without a fight.
Songs It’s one of those movies that you shouldn’t be there, but you can’t help but watch anyway. As a fan of nicolas nicolas cage, I wanted to see what kind of hijinks ensued after a critical hit like 2024’s The Surfer and 2023’s Dream State. While I respect cage’s commitment to it SongsI’m not sure what Ben was up to. There is no logic to the third Law, but arriving at the third Law requires great willpower.
The set pieces and gun are traditional Ramshackle, and the bodycount runs in the double digits without serving much of a purpose. The whole production plays like people in 2025 cosplay from the beginning of the 20th century, which is happening. You cannot be removed from similar movies Songs Because there is nothing to pull you to begin with. I saw this whole thing through use because I pride myself on watching TV professionally, but I won’t regret giving this thing away. Or, at least, if you have a nicolas cage pepredsheet that needs another checked box, you can change the netflix speed to 1.5x and blast through it in 70 minutes.
Songs it’s streaming on netflix.
