Nick Reiner Does Not Appear in Court After Rob’s Murder, Michele Reiner

Nick Reiner failed to appear in court after being arrested following the stabbing of his parents, Rob Reiner again Michele Singer Reiner.

Nick’s lawyer Alan Jackson he told reporters on Tuesday, December 16, that his client will still be allowed to appear in court. Nick, 32, could make his first appearance on Wednesday, December 17, but it will be decided “day by day”.

Jackson declined to disclose who is paying Nick’s legal fees — including whether the Reiner family is financially involved.

The Los Angeles Police Department Parker City Jail confirmed that Us Weekly On Monday, December 15, Nick, 32, was arrested on a charge of murder after Rob and Michele were stabbed to death in their home in Los Angeles on Sunday, December 14. He is being held on $4 million bail.

The LAPD initially confirmed that Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, were found dead “from stab wounds.”

During the press conference, the Deputy Head Alan S. Hamilton said the LAPD is “currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the deaths of two people at Rob Reiner’s home in Brentwood.” However, he said they avoided “segregating the investigation” as a homicide at the time.

A few hours after news broke of Rob and Michele’s death, multiple outlets reported that Nick was a suspected person of interest in the case and that he was being questioned by detectives about his parents’ death.

Nick has been open about his complicated relationship with his parents in the past, and even explored their strength amid his personal struggles in the 2015 film. It was Charlie. “I think I’m lucky in the sense that I have parents who care about me,” Nick said at the time. “Because of that, when I went out to do things like drugs and stuff like that, I felt very guilty.”

Nick continued, “I was thinking, ‘They’re thinking about me right now, they want me to do good.’ … Some people don’t have parents who are interested in them.”

“[What] he just said that he really found me, which means that deep down he trusted that we love him and are here for him,” Rob answered his son, “I think that’s where he made a mistake. We didn’t believe he had that in him.”

And during the podcast, Nick discussed how his experience growing up in a famous family influenced his struggle with addiction.

“I don’t think this is any different than a lot of people going through their teenage years, but I think I didn’t know who I was and I didn’t have any hobbies,” he said. “I have a famous father and a famous grandfather and that kind of fame informs who you are so I wanted to portray myself as a violent, angry, drug addict.”

Besides Nick, Rob and Michele share son Jake, 34, and daughter Romy, 28. The director of The When Harry Met Sally was the father of daughter Tracy, whom he had during his first marriage to his late ex-wife, Penny Marshall.
