Mariel Molino you know NCIS: The Origins Fans want LALA and Gibbs to get together – but for now, their romantic relationship is on ice.

Molino, whose character was revealed during the season 2 premiere for living after throwing his car during season 1, noted that their jobs are like nis or death. Therefore, with the foreseeable future, Gibbs cannot entertain the idea of a romantic relationship with LALA despite being close in the near hours left before his accident.

“As much as he has good feelings for LALA, he’s trying to protect his heart from the thought of losing again,” Molino told The Gibbs Season. “It’s something [him] just not wanting to open his heart again just to have it ripped out again. “
He told We The question, “What does that mean for Gibbs, if you’re not fulfilled?” It will be “interesting” to see play out. Molino added that even though Gibbs is in another relationship, viewers — and the characters — will learn “his feelings about Lala come through” each week.

Erik Voake / CBSWhile Molino makes it clear that LALA is focused on getting back to his old self, and fighting to find his place back in the office, his feelings for Gibbs are still there. Gibbs, at that moment, put his walls back up in fear but could not make out the lala in his mind.
He told We Their current strong relationship is very visible during season 2, episode 2, which aired on Tuesday, October 21. Gibbs made it his goal to ask her first question after LALA started to return from her break.

“I think the genius of that reason why he’s trying to do it is because LALA has kind of planted a seed in his head. Like, ‘Well, so how are you going to be interrogated? [going]? ‘ And he’s like, ‘Well, I’ve never done it,'” Molino said. “That sets them on this adventure, which is, ‘Now I have to make the best heist deck.'”
He laughed, “I think it’s very true when you love someone, you actually want them to be proud of you and you want them to admire you, and you see that with gibbs and Lala.”
Lala also often works hard because of gibbs, although molino jokes that he is “too proud to admit” his influence on her.

Even with the clear chemistry between lala and gibbs, he chose to move forward with diane, who NCIS Viewers know that she eventually gets married and divorced.
