North Carolina Democratic State Attorney Matt Lawmaker resigned after being charged with felonies for having sex with a minor.
The move from Rep. Cecil Brockman of High Point comes after facing BiPartisan calls to withdraw and a possible Committee investigation, announced by the North Carolina Speaker, into the poor renovation of his house.
“I am currently facing criminal charges brought against me in Guilfford County. Due to the seriousness of these allegations, I need to focus on the defense of these allegations,” Brockman, 41, said in a statement obtained by WXII. “As a result, I am unable to fulfill my mission and academic service in Guilford County. As a result, I am resigning my position from the NC Association of Representatives.”

“His departure saves the house from a difficult eviction process and brings closure to this troubling chapter,” Hall added, according to WXII.
Brockman is charged with two counts of rape of a child between the ages of 13 and 15 and two counts of indecent exposure to a child, according to court records obtained by Fox News Digital.
The order of the Magistrate said that he is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old, who is 15 years old in August and is suspected of having committed and attempted to commit a “lewd and lasceive act” reported, said the media accompanying the story.
Court documents declassified show that Brockman tried to contact the alleged patient while he was in the hospital and wanted to “find out about his condition to get information about it.”
