Meghan King Wrote About ‘Tough Year’ After Prison Drama

King, 41, shared a meme that read, “It’s been a rough year, but at least I didn’t buy Labubu,” via Instagram Stories on Tuesday, December 23. He added his own caption to the post, writing, “Buttttt a bunch of ‘really weird’ things happened,” adding the caption “just saying” and a backsliding girl emoji.

The first one The Real Housewives of Orange County star was seen talking about her recently resolved adoption drama with her ex-husband Jim Edmonds.

King and Edmonds, 55, were married from 2014 to 2019. After their divorce, the former couple shared custody of their three children: daughter Aspen, 8, and twins Hart and Hayes, 7. However, Us Weekly broke the news in November that King had been stripped of his custody rights and had been granted supervised visitation with their children.

A source told us at the time that the decision to strip King of custody came after a school employee called Child Protective Services told the mother of three. Initially, a lawsuit was filed to determine whether King had custody of the children, but it was dropped after King and Edmonds were able to reach an agreement.

“The detention hearing has been waived,” Edmonds said, Steve Honighe told Us earlier this month. “Both parties have reached an agreement that will benefit the children.”

A second source said Us that the children will live with their father in Tennessee full time and spend a few weeks with the King every summer. Neither King nor Edmonds – married Courtney Edmonds in September 2022 – they spoke publicly about the custody dispute.

Days after settling their child custody agreement, King shared a photo with all three of his children as he celebrated the holiday season.

“Went to a vacation spot and only spent money on this,” she captioned on Instagram on Dec. 13, as all three kids played a claw machine game. “We are a nail loving family!”

After the photo went viral, multiple sources shared more details about the custody agreement with her Us – giving more details as to why King was allowed to have children while Edmond had custody.

Another source explained: “Jim and Meghan can agree that he can have children. “Jim wants it to look on paper that he has full-time custody but that is not sustainable. The children stay with Meghan most of the time.”

A second insider explained that the children will spend “a few days” with the King during Christmas, which is part of the deal they made.

“The reason Meghan has been seen with the kids recently is because Jim has been nice and allowed her to see them before the permanent move,” the same source said.

Several of King’s former RHOC co-stars have shown support for their friend as child custody issues continue to make headlines.

“Meghan and I are friends, and I’m going to stand by her and support her,” Alexis Bellino told Us Weekly exclusively this month. “What I can say is that I know it’s very difficult, and I just worship him, it’s not easy, I don’t believe everything I read, I would talk to him before I comment further.”
