First on fox: A Portland man is accused of threatening to kill law enforcement officers and sexually assaulting their wives, the FBI told Fox News Digital on Monday.
John Paul CUPP, 45, is accused of committing a violent crime at a meeting of immigration and customs enforcement (ice) building in South Portland. He is charged with making threats against a federal law enforcement officer.

“Cupp threatened to kill law enforcement officers, sexually assault their wives, and harm their children,” the documents said, according to the FBI.

“On November 3, 2025, CUPP posted a video that replicated online the bracelets on Federal agents and their wives,” the report added. “On November 13, 2025, CUPP continued to send violent threats to officers and their families.”
The FBI also said that the suspect “is a prolific producer of online content and regularly posts violent innuendos, calls for war against the United States, antisemitic threats and intimidation.”
FBI Director Kash Patel told FOX News Digital The Agency is determined to fight the excesses.
“If you threaten to kill law enforcement officers or harm their families, you will face the full weight of the federal government,” Patel said.

In a statement, US Attorney for the District of Oregon Scott E. Bradford said threats of violence against law enforcement “will not be tolerated.”
“The US Attorney’s Office remains committed to cracking down on narratives that threaten and intimidate those who protect our communities,” Bradford said.

Acting FBI Portland Special Agent in Charge Matt Torres said in a statement that law enforcement threats “have no place in our community.”

“Efforts to intimidate those sworn to protect the American people and support our efforts undermine our efforts to keep us all safe,” Torres said.
“The FBI will use all investigative methods available to us to find and arrest anyone who uses violent rhetoric to expose themselves.”
