Bankruptcy filings are not a common situation among Las Vegas strip casinos and businesses.
The last major bankruptcy in the line was more than 10 years ago in January 2015 when APOLa Entertainment.
Some of the smaller casinos that come out of line or outside of Vegas, however, have filed for bankruptcy protection in the past 10 years.
The Chinese-themed Lucky Dragon Casino, which opened in Las Vegas in 2016, filed for bankruptcy and closed in 2018.
Privately held LAS Vegas maverick operator LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 14, 2025, a month after S&P Global Ratings withdrew all of its ratings from the company.
Maverick Gaming owned four Nevada casinos located in Elko and Wendover, NEV., 17 card rooms in Washington State, and three casinos in Colorado when it filed for bankruptcy. Its casino holdings include 2,500 slot machines, 320 table games, 1,200 hotel rooms, and 30 restaurants.
While no casinos on the strip have filed for bankruptcy in years, the business at the casino resort area has filed for chapter 11.
The Electric Playhouse, a Las Vegas strip alternative social media playhouse, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to reorganize its business.
The parent company based in Albuquerque filed its claim in the US court to smoke in the state of Nevada on Oct.
Electric Playhouse NV LLC did not state a reason for the bankruptcy filing in its filing.
The high-end entertainment destination opened its first interactive location in Albuquerque in 2021.
A 10,000 square foot entertainment space opened inside the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace Las Vegas at knee level on the strip on June 22, 2024, where players’ bodies become the controllers of the game, without the gadget.
The Electric Playhouse, which is not owned by Caesars Entertainment, VICI Property or mall owner Simon Property Group, does not offer on-premise gambling.
The venue is equipped with a network of sensors that generate a Real-Time Point Cloud, enabling direct tracking of individuals and large groups throughout the venue, according to a statement on the Electric Playhouse website.
The volumetric data is used to create a digital twin of each visitor, similar to a player within a video game. As the guests walk, the walls and tables react to their actions in different ways, enhanced with a 360-degree projection map that completely focuses the guests on interactive games and dining experiences.
The place also has an outdoor patio with a view of the strip and a bar and restaurant, electric elixirs, offering chicken wings, including pizzas, pizzas, and coffee or dessert coffee.
The place also offers a mid-range dining experience that is more of a Wonderland experience, featuring a menu by celebrity Chef Keris Kuwana on Oct 24 for $150 per website, according to each diner.
