Loedom Filmmaker Filmmaker Ken Burn praised the public broadcasting service (PBS) as a “Declaration of Independence” for the media while lamenting the loss of its federal funding on Wednesday.
Burning discussed his recent writings “American Revolution” in the “Hasan Minhaj does not know” podcast, finally the decision turned to President Donald Cutting financial support, which helps Congress Packal Packal Packal in July.
Burns, whose long-form documentary has been featured on PBS, said he believed the network would survive without the money but warned that the impact of the cuts would be felt most in rural areas.

He continued, “This is a big thing. It hurts Alaska a lot, because the Dakotas, east of Tennessee, are a lot of other places that really represent independence that is used for communication.”

PBS CEO Paula Kerger echoed similar sentiments in April, warning the White House in a statement that cutting funding to public broadcasting would “harm” rural areas that depend on emergency services.

“Saving these funds will hurt PB member stations and the important role they play in communities, especially rural stations that depend on cash payments and emergency services in times of crisis,” Kerger said.
