John Travolta speaks out after ‘disgusting photo’ of burning home angers online: ‘It’s a valid reason’
A video of John Travolta talking about the use of his private jet is making the rounds, and this comes after a photo of Florolta’s Florida Session called “Disgusting” showed the back parking lot.
In a YouTube short from 10x Studios (@ 10xstudios), Grant Cardione asked him in an interview, “Why do you have three planes? … I got one plane.”
“It’s a practical reason. I’m my own driver. The renovation setup at his home, which includes a runway that leads almost directly into his community as part of the jumbolair averation the community lives in, received backlash online a few months ago.
The facility is located in an aviation community in Ocala, Florida, designed for residents who prefer to have their aircraft serviced directly from their homes. Travolta clarified that he holds 12 Jet sizes, including Boeing 747, 707, Gulfstream, and Airjet, and prefers to fly himself instead of crashing.
For Travolta, it’s part of a built-up lifestyle, and perhaps more understandable at a time when jet pollution and the effects of global warming were not well understood – under the logic of beating it, you go ahead and spend money even if you spend money however you want. That idea is not inherently bad, but most would agree that there are responsible and responsible ways to use it. Either way, the clip shows what “working” can look like depending on who you are.
Apart from the burning lifestyle, the discussion can be about what a private jet is at a time of great concern about pollution. Private jets produced 19.5 million metric tons of Planet-warming gas by 2023, equivalent to the emissions of 177 passenger cars or nine heavy-duty trucks, according to the ICCT. This use of private aircraft has a direct impact on the changing climate.
The ripple effect from rising global temperatures results in extreme weather events such as devastating hurricanes, prolonged droughts, and severe wildfires. These events threaten human safety, wildlife safety, the ecological integrity of our local environment, and food.
Travolta isn’t the only celebrity to be called out for uncontrolled consumption. Other public figures, such as Jeff Bezos and Steven Spielberg, have faced a similar backlash. Bezos bought his fourth private jet for $80 million in direct conflict with Amazon’s government position on its environmentally friendly goals. Similarly, SPIELBERG has spoken publicly about “fear of global warming” and is now among the celebrities who use their private jets the most.
When the planet experiences extreme weather events due to the rising temperatures of people around the world, the rage at this level can be dangerous and more dangerous.
“How much would he cost far to be rated at 12 Jets?” one comment below frustrated short youtube.
“It’s not like anyone else has a hobby. … so I think it depends on how much money you have to spend on what you like.
“I’m richer than you. That’s all he’ll say,” wrote a third.
