James van der Beek reveals why he is not appearing today

James van der Beek he was forced to miss a scheduled appearance on Today Show – but there was a good reason behind his absence.
The actor, 48, took to his Instagram story on Friday, December 5, to explain why he had to miss a TV commitment because of that day.
“Tell me you’ve got kids without telling me you’ve got kids: Postponing an appearance @today is shown looking because of pink,” The Dawson’s Creek Alum wrote alongside a selfie with one of her daughters.

In a video interview with the outlet, Van der Beek noted that her diagnosis had an impact on her children.
“My kids are so supportive and loving and soft,” she said. “And you hate to watch them have to grow up that way, but you watch them put you first, which, as a father, which is fun and with healthy enjoyment.”

Kimberly also supported her husband during his health battle. Recently, Kimberly praised him in the Comments Section of an Invember Instagram post as he tried to sell one of his jerseys from the 1999 film Varsity blues to raise money to pay for his cancer treatment. The funds will also help ‘support families going the same way.’

Van der Beek’s Today Showing off isn’t the only work commitment you have to skip this year.
The actor also came out to visit Dawson’s Creek reunion in person in September due to health issues.
“This is an evening I could have looked forward to more since my angel Michelle Williams You said you put it together, back in January…” Van der Beek wrote on Instagram, one day before the restructuring took place.
Van der Beek was scheduled to join his former ranks Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson And Williams in New York City for a reunion, which raised money for cancer.

Van der Beek announced Lin-Manuel Miranda would replace the reunion event, playing his character Dawson in a pilot reading at the event.
Despite not being able to appear in the flesh at the Richard Rodger Theater on Broadway, Van der Beek was able to make a cameo at the event with a visual appearance.
“I can’t believe I’m not there,” he said in a prerecorded video that was played on stage at the time. “I can’t believe that I don’t get a hug from my ang capmate, personally, and I wanted to face that stage and thank you very much to that person who gave to the world. Thank you for coming.”
