Jacob Solomon is advancing to run for Mayor of Jersey City

Jersey City Council member Hume James Solomon has advanced in a mayoral race that has been temporarily closed this year, the Associated Press reports.

Active elections will be held on December 2 after receiving the election that won the majority of votes on Tuesday. His opponent has not been announced, AP reported.

The race for the Mayor of the Mayor of Nopartisan Jersey City was full of seven candidates, including Jersey McGreevey, who was viewed as the front runner, who was the writer of Hudson County, who was Solomon, Solomon, City Council.

The election also included School Board President Mussab Ali, City Police Officer Christina Freeman, City Council President Joyce Jayman and the election.

Jersey City is an important jurisdiction in the garden state, with a population of approximately 303,000 and conveniently located across the Hudson River from New York City.

The Mayor’s race follows the Mayor of Jersey City, Steven Fulop, who is seeking to run for another term. Fulop failed in the democratic nomination to serve as the new Governor of Jersey before 2025.

McGreevey’s Run for Jersey City Mayor marked his return to New Jersey Politics following his departure as governor and the Department of Human Resources he named the Department of Land and Preparedness. McGreevey was married to a woman at the time, and resigned after his ex-partner threatened a sexual assault lawsuit.

“I’m not asking people to judge my soul. That’s up to God,” McGreevevey told j.com in October of his return to politics. “What I would ask people to ask is, ‘Will I be a good Mayor?’ ‘”

McGreevey later came out as gay, and withdrew from the public eye following his resignation. He briefly stepped into the foundation after his resignation and focused his attention on faith-based community service, according to his campaign website.

He is known as the first openly gay governor in US history.

Similar to the New Jersey Gubernatorial Election, the pre-election in Jersey City has focused on reporting in a state known for its high taxes and housing problems.

McGreevey, for example, campaigned on building 1,000 new affordable homes for City residents and required 20% of new development to be reserved for affordable housing.

O’deea campaigned on measures to regulate the city’s rent, as well as build affordable housing for teachers, nurses and first responders, according to her website. Solomon released Solomon will end the “current payment system for playing breaks for developers” to reduce the cost of housing, as well as the end of “double occupancy of buildings in all campaign buildings.
