Specialties: Israeli National Grameting Livie Razs and Eyal Indig found all their training for the World Championship work was to be spent just a few days after the end of the war in Gaza.
They had just had the pleasure of seeing the last remaining hostages return home.
“We started the week with one of the most exciting times in the last two years, seeing the hostages live coming home, finally being able to breathe and counting at home with us,” Inding told FOX News Digital.

Then came a shocking news report.
“It seemed like, out of place,” said Olympian Raz from Paris, Israel.

They first read in a news article that the Indonesian government blocked their visas to enter the country for the 2025 Jakarta Art Festival.
Tag and Indig said they were told that their visas were being denied because of the concerns of the Indonesian government.
“The official reason given by the Indonesian government is that we participated in the accident, and other national travelers,” said Indig.
But Indig says the team’s security team has given them permission to enter the city, after a preliminary check.
Indig Cound Counds – Tens of thousands of security forces used by the country’s sports teams since the Munich Olympics, where eight terrorists associated with the black freedom group – entered the village of Allestine in a meeting that failed to take the delegation athletes. The mission resulted in the death of six Israeli coaches, five athletes, a West German police officer and five terrorists.
“For us, it was very surprising,” Indig said. “That same security happened one week before our flight, in Indonesia, they’re in Indonesia, and they were approving everything according to the security team, and don’t believe me they won’t approve if it’s safe.”
Indig is later called by Indonesia’s decision, “a clear case of discrimination on the basis of nationality.”
When asked if he believed the recent suspension of Hamas would lead to fewer incidents of Israeli immigration, in what has been a growing trend, Indig said. “I really hope so. But one thing I can say is that this incident has nothing to do with the cessation of fire. It is a clear incident of discrimination on the basis of ethnicity.”
Both Indig, raz and their partners have attended competitions with other Muslim countries, including Azerbaijan, Egypt, Turkey and Qatar, and they have no problems.
FOX News Digital reached out to the Indonesian Embassy in the US, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Press Bureau of the country’s President, Prabowo Subianto, for a response.
Indonesia’s Sports Minister Erick Thohir defended his country’s decision in a statement in the last week of October.
“We adhere to the goal of preserving security, public order and public interest in handling all events across the country,” he said.

The Israel Gyraics Federation has applied to the court of arbitration for sports (CAS) to try to force the International Gymnactric Federation (FIG) to confirm the participation of Israel, or otherwise, move the event to a new location.
Indig and Raz said they were holding out hope that they and their partners would only be allowed to enter the competitive world in time.
So they never stop training.
“It was really tough,” Cam said of his training in the uncertain few days.
“You have already been told that you are not going, but they said that they are still working on it, but the chances are low. But I wanted to stay in the best possible situation.”
They said they initially got the news on Friday, when their flight was scheduled to depart the following Monday. Amid the uncertainty, the team returned their flight a day from Monday to Tuesday, waiting to see if the appeal would be accepted. So they spend that extra Monday I do extra training.
Then came Tuesday, and their flight was delayed again, due to the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, and they continued training.
But late Tuesday night, Oct. 14, the Cas dropped the country’s appeal. Their hopes for the rest of the world were gone.
“After the COS decision there was nothing left to do, so we finally put the gloves down,” said Indig.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) quickly issued a statement later that week blaming Indonesia’s treatment of the team. The IOC later issued a statement assigning the organization of other major sporting events to Indonesia’s domestic governing bodies, and limited all talks and hosting rights for the upcoming Olympics.
But the world governing the Gymnastics Leadership Scheme was very sensitive to Indonesia.
MFIM President Morinari Watanabe and general secretary Nicolas Bumpane defended the thinking of the Indonesian government to worry about security as the global debate at the time grew, in a press conference on Oct. 18.
“We are disappointed and frustrated, because we said, sports is a place without politics,” said Raz. “They are disappointed that they put us in this situation, they didn’t have our back,” he added in response to the kicker.
Anyway, raz and indig watched the competitions in Indonesia that week, like loyal fitness fans.
Zazi said it makes the situation more difficult.
“Seeing this competition, it was difficult, it was difficult because we saw the competition because we really wanted to be there, and we wanted to compete,” he said.
Indig took solace in the cause of Team USA Whittenburg, who became the first American to win gold in the men’s rings at the event after being injured last year.
“I broke both my ribs in a serious accident a year and a half ago, and I’m working two jobs to try to get back into exercise,” she said. “So for me, watching Donnell Whittetburg tear his achilles last year … it was amazing to watch.”
Indig also said that he received private support from other contestants who were present at the event.

However, both raz and Indig wondered if the podium results would have been successful if their team had been allowed into the country.
He went so far as to say that he was “sure” the results would have been different if the Israeli star and Olympic gold medalist in the men’s backstroke event had been there.
“The podium photo, we’re sure that would have looked different if he’d been on the floor,” Raz said.

Two of the gymnasts had a holiday organized after the conditions, such as the highest return of the competition. They decided that they would still take the vacation, despite the incident. They traveled through Africa, stopping in Zanzibar before going on a safari in Kenya.
“Emotionally, we were very moved,” said Ram, as all tramsmymsymsworks said the trip was much needed after the pressure of the situation.
And now, they are back in training, now they are highly motivated for their next competitions, leading to the world championships in 2026, 27 and possibly the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
They don’t expect to see the same issues as what happened in Indonesia to play again in other competitions, and the Olympic Committee of Israel is taken to protect it.
“Our Federation has done and continues to do everything so this will not happen, and neither will the Israeli Olympic Committee,” Raz said.
Indig added, “We are very alert, everyone with high awareness, and doing everything possible to make sure that this will not happen.”
