The Israeli military said it launched airstrikes and artillery fire on sources in southern Gaza on Sunday, undermining hopes that Israel had led to an escalation of the Palestinian faction.
The attack on Israel on Sunday was the biggest test of the already fragile firepower, which went into effect on October 11.
The Israeli military said in a statement that the strikes targeted forces in the Rafah area that had opened fire on its forces. This means that the attack destroyed the tunnels and buildings of the soldiers.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will retaliate against Hamas by attacking its soldiers.
Hamas’ inspected wing said in a statement that it remains committed to the cease-fire agreement in all of Gaza, adding that it was not aware of the conflict between groups in Rafah and that it has not been in contact with groups there since March.
“We confirm our full commitment to the implementation of all agreements, the most important of which is the cessation of fire in all areas of the Gaza Strip,” Al-Qassam Brigades said.
Palestinian witnesses on Sunday condemned separately Reuters explosions and gunfire in Rafah, Talk Town Town in Aberen Al-Balah, according to Al-AQSA hospital awards.
Witnesses in Khan Younis heard the wave of airstrikes launched in Rafah early Sunday afternoon.
Laza’s Hamas-Run Health Department said on Sunday that attacks in Israel have killed at least eight people in the past 24 hours.

An Israeli military official said earlier on Sunday that Hamas attacked Israeli forces inside Gaza, including rocket attacks and sniper attacks against Israeli soldiers.
“Both of these incidents took place in Israeli-controlled territory – this is a flagrant violation of the ceasefire,” the official said.
Israeli Defense Minister KATZ said the “yellow line” where Israeli forces have been drawn under the cease-fire agreement will be physically marked for any breach of fire or attempt to cross the line.
Hamas official Izzat Al Risheq said on Sunday that the Palestinian militant group remained committed to the cease-fire, accusing Israel of repeated violations.
The government press office in Gaza said on Saturday that Israel had committed 47 violations after the end of the withdrawal, leaving 38 dead.
“These violations range from direct shooting at Chietians, deliberate withdrawal and diversion of operations, and the arrest of several civilians,” the press office said in a statement.
Rafah falls to stay locked up
The government of Israel and Hamas have been accusing each other of violating the law to end the festival for days to end the period, and Israel, the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt will remain closed until it is closed.
Rafah has been largely closed since May 2024
The crossing is attacked by previous stoppages that served as an important means of helping people to flow within the encation.
Israel and Hamas shared a debate over the return of the bodies of the dead hostages. Israel demanded that Hamas fulfill its obligations in returning the remaining bodies of all 28 hostages.

Major obstacles to Trump’s plan to end the conflict remain. The important questions of Hamas disbanding, the future administration of Gaza, the formation of the reinforcement force, and moving forward in the creation of a Palestinian state are still to be resolved.
The US State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
