Illinois creates immigration protections in courthouses and story days

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker on Tuesday signed a dynamic report aimed at preventing illegal immigrants from deportation, building new campuses for courts, hospitals, day care and university campuses to reduce the power of immigration.

Pritzker signed HB 1312 in small town Chicago alongside Bill sponsors, officials, and community advocates.

“With my signature today, we are protecting the people and institutions that were not in Illinois. Dropping your child off at day care, going to the doctor, or going to your classroom should not be a life-changing activity,” Pritzker said in a press release. “Illinois – in the face of harassment and intimidation – has chosen unity and support.

The law allows people to send officials if they believe their constitutional rights are being violated. It prohibits the arrest of people in public and in places that comply with existing procedures in this court order, and strengthens privacy laws in hospitals by requiring policies governing cooperation with law enforcement.

It also restricts universities and day care centers from sharing a person’s immigration status unless required by law, and forces them to implement policies to manage Federal agents by early 2026.

“If Pritzker is a slob focused on fixing the crime in his state instead of protecting his fellow criminals, the people of Illinois will be a lot safer,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Cracking down on crime and telling our brothers about the lawlessness of dangerous crimes shouldn’t be a partisan issue, but the democts suffering from TDS are trying to do it, all at the expense of the Americans they were elected to serve.”

President Donald Trump told CBS News in November that he believes immigration and cultural enforcement have “never been open enough” when asked about the tactics of the federal government that has approved protests and lawsuits.

Trump told CBS News he believes his immigration mandate will be completed if “many” as many as 25 million are deported.
