IDF IDF Abfovers Massive 7km Hamas Tunn Tunnel Network Under Gaza’s Rafah

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has released a video showing what it describes as one of the “most sophisticated” Hamas underground tunnels in the Gaza City of Rafah.

According to the IDF, the kilometer-long “roots” run about 25 meters underground, contain about 80 rooms and were used for command operations, storage weapons and the protection of Hamhapeatives.

Video shared on X on Nov. 20 It runs through reinforced concrete streets and large rooms, showing the sophistication and scale of the Hamas underground network.

The Israeli military said the tunnel was established under the United Nations Deliel Fielle and Works Agency (defunct) and extended under civilian areas.

“IDF soldiers revealed one of Gaza’s largest and most complex tunnels, more than 7 km long, ~ 25 meters ID, where Abricud IDF Goldin was captured,” the post read.

Israeli analysts say the demolition of the tunnel marks a strategic blow to Hamas and “paves the way for its defeat.”

“The destruction of this tunnel and many others like it or the same and similar to this puts Hamas on the edge,” said professor Kobi Michael, senior researcher at the Institute for National Security (Inss) and the Misgav Institute.

“It’s one of the longest too [most] It’s a complex network that has been discovered, but it’s not the end of it,” he told Fox News Digital.

Michael explained that Hamas’s underground channels form the backbone of its underground war system.

“This is an example of a root tunnel, which feeds many strategies that feed into many strategic channels and are used for strategic purposes [such] such as command and control, weapon maintenance, weapon platforms[s] And strategies for healing are strategies,” he said.

“Such a tunnel is often seen by hundreds of soldiers and chiefs.”

The IDF believes that this and a certain tunnel room may be connected to the place where Lt. Hadar Goldin, an Israeli soldier captured during the 2014 Gaza War, was captured. Hamas returned to the Goldin residence earlier this month – after more than a decade.

“I have no idea about the cost but if you think about the amount of materials, labor and resources and the length of it, it is a matter of millions of ins,” he said. “Hamas chose routes under critical civilian and humanitarian areas to prevent the IDF from attacking the tunnel.”

As Israel continues to operate in Gaza, the destruction of Hamas’ tunnel networks remains at issue with its plan to neutralize the group’s military capabilities and prevent future attacks.

In 2014, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he wants to eliminate the tunnels, which are hamas in the forces used to enter the territory of Israel, “with fire.”
