How British Dragon Queen la Voix unknowingly knew the structure of the $73m Jewel Heist

As a drag machine, LA Voix can do almost anything from comedy to singing and dancing – and, apparently, hiding jewel thieves.

LA Voix, the Hudula Persona of 45-year-old Chris Dennis, was the runner-up and the favorites for the sixth season of Rupaul’s Drag Race from the UK and is currently winning the hearts of the BBC’s He even dancedBritish counterpart to Dancing with the stars.

But before he became a TV star, Dennis worked as a makeup artist in London – where, in 2009, he unknowingly played the role of one of the biggest robbers in British history.

“I did two robberies with the biggest jewels in the UK,” said Dennis, who first made the revelation in the 2021 episode of Little did I know podcast.

The story started again last week following an article in the Daily Mail.

On Aug. 6, 2009, two men armed with a handgun broke into graff diamonds’ west west store and stole about 40 million ($ 73 million) worth of rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches.

Men are hidden in ProgramsEthics and makeup – and that’s where Dennis comes into the story.

‘Nothing out of the ordinary’

After that, Dennis worked as a freelance makeup artist at Charles Fox’s specialty Gade Makeup Studio, a well-known supplier of film and theater products.

“I’ve been booked to do makeup for two men who want to have aging makeup,” Dennis told Podcast Host David McGillivray. “I was told it was a music video.”

He said there was “nothing else out of the ordinary” about the men except that they were ‘slow and united.’

He recounts how he and his friend, who are being helped, used latex and watex and “tended” everything to the customers – it is said that they thought the prosthetics were too ridiculous – before the two men paid in cash and entered the taxi.

The Daily Mail reported that the men paid him £450 (about $810 at the time) for four hours of work.

Dennis said he went home after work and “didn’t think about it” until he picked up a free newspaper the next morning.

On the front page was a CCTV image of the same two men from the previous day.

Dennis and the make-up studio were immediately contacted by the London Metropolitan and Clotland police.

He told McGillivray he was removed by plainclothes authorities for questioning. He also provided makeup brushes, gowns, rubber masks and money for DNA testing.

He will have to testify after the men were caught and eventually convicted along with three others in 2010.

Dennis said the ordeal was “terrifying” at the time.

But he shared an anecdote that suggests he should be more concerned.

He said the police officer told him that they were able to trace the suspects to their homes.

“So, it’s not the light bulbs in the box,” Dennis Joke.

According to the Guardian, a series of events and inappropriate activities led to their arrest.

The two thieves hit a cab while speeding in their getaway car – where they left behind a mobile phone, a gun and four cartridges when they tried to switch cars.

It’s not clear what ultimately happened to the gems, though The Guardian predicted in 2010 that they were likely to break even and rebuke other markets.

It was not the first time the makeup was done

In February 2006, armed robbers made the biggest heist in UK history, stealing £53 million ($105 million at the time) from the Securitas Cash Depository in Tonbridge, Kent.

They, too, hired a makeup artist undercover – and found things at the Charles Fox Studio.

Dennis does not seem to have commented on the used story of his role in the graff diamonds heist, but he is very interested in power He even danced.

In a post on LA Voix’s Instagram account on Wednesday, the drag queen said she had the “time of my life” at the dance.
