Season 5 of Emily in Paris includes marriage, divorce and review Lucas BravoGabriel’s missing character — but what about everyone else?
Netflix released season 5 on Thursday, December 18, which began after Emily (Lily Collins) chose to explore the future with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) in Rome. Their professional and personal lives collided and led to a split mid-season.
Emily and Marcello found a way to get back together but miscommunication made him turn down his proposal. Although Marcello didn’t plan to propose, it made them realize that he wanted to be in Rome while Emily chose Paris. They call it quits for good, which Gabriel (Bravo) is informed by courtesy of Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu).
Gabriel was out for most of the season after taking a job on the boat. The final scene of the season showed him in Greece writing a postcard to Emily asking her to visit him. This left the future of Emily and Gabriel’s romance unclear – for now.
“If we think we’ve been picked up, I want to go back to Paris. But I also want to go to other places,” the director and executive producer. Andrew Fleming you are only told Us Weekly. “It’s funny where we might end up going at the end of season 5 – we might go there, Greece.”
Samuel Arnoldwho plays Julian, was excited about the prospect of moving, he said Us“I’m not going to lie, if they want to shoot in Greece, no matter why I say, ‘Let’s go.’ I have never been to Greece.”
Another love triangle this season involved Mindy (Ashley Park) meeting secretly with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) after breaking up with Nico (Paul Forman). They let it go when Emily found out but there were still feelings there. Nico came back into Mindy’s life, won her back and they finally got engaged – just before Lucien planned to fight for her.
“We’re really seeing Emily and Mindy in different situations. I think it’s the first time their friendship has changed from the way Lily and I have communicated,” Park told us about the friends who had a disagreement.
The actress revealed that Mindy and Emily often reflect how close she and Collins were in real life.
“But I’m proud of both of those women in this show. “But I can say that Emily in Paris keeps surprising me.”
According to Park, he “didn’t see” Mindy’s news coming.
“I feel like I should be in eight different types of shows combined,” he said. “What more can you ask for? I don’t know what to expect. So I just stopped expecting. It feels like I’m being stingy. So they keep us in his comments.”
Another breakup involved Sylvie ending her marriage and having romantic entanglements throughout the season.
Emily in Paris is currently streaming on Netflix.
